LADY RAIDER PREVIEW: at West Virginia

LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech Lady Raider basketball team heads back out on the road this week as it travels to Morgantown for a test against West Virginia. The Lady Raiders and Mountaineers are set to face off on Wednesday at 6 p.m. CT at WVU Coliseum. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.

- The lethal scoring duo of Vivian Gray and Lexi Gordon that is one of the top offensive tandems in the country has combined for 12 20-point scoring performances through 11 games this season. The pair are two of only five players in the Big 12 who have recorded six or more 20-point games this season.

- Through the first 11 games, Texas Tech has been one of the top teams in the country at taking care of the ball. At only 13.5 turnovers per game, the Lady Raiders lead the conference and rank in the top 40 nationally in turnovers per game.

- In addition to being considered one of the best two-way players in the country, Gray is averaging 19.0 points, 7.6 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game through 11 starts. She is one of only two players in the Big 12 to rank in the top 12 of the conference in each of those three statistical categories.

ABOUT THE MOUNTAINEERS
The West Virginia Mountaineers (8-2, 2-2 Big 12) come into Wednesday's matchup off a dominant, 92-58 win over then-No. 17 Texas last Saturday in Morgantown, to follow up a 90-72 road win at Oklahoma to begin 2021. The Mountaineers are led offensively by Kysre Gondrezick, who is averaging 20.5 points per game to rank third in the Big 12, while Esmery Martinez is the second-leading rebounder in the country--averaging 13.3 boards per contest. West Virginia is efficient, ranking second in the conference in FG% (.463) and first in 3PFG% (.394). The Mountaineers are led by Mike Carey, who is in his 20th season at West Virginia.
