The Red Raiders competed in the Texas Relays last week which saw two school records go down. The 4x100 team of Virginia Kerley, Kiah Dubarry-Gay, Demisha Roswell and Rosemary Chukwuma etched a new time of 43.11 – previous mark was 43.53 set in 2012. Meanwhile, in the long jump, Monae' Nichols took down Ruth Usoro's 2021 record of 6.76m (22-2.25) and leaped 6.80m (22-3.75). That mark is currently No. 1 in the world.

Following her stellar performance at the Texas Relays in the shot put, Johnson is set to compete in all the throws this weekend – discus, shot put and hammer. Meanwhile, Big 12 heptathlon champion and First Team All-American Gary Haasbroek will look to make his outdoor debut this season. He's penciled to go in the discus, javelin, long jump and 110 hurdles.
Onaara Obamuwagun and Jalen Seals are poised to make their outdoor debut going in the triple jump. Kyra Young will lead the women's side in the steeplechase while on the men's side it will be Thomas Velvin and Jaden Tumale. Two Red Raiders in Michaela Lewis and Eran Siboni will go in the 400. Knowledge Omovoh is back in the 200 since the Wes Kittley Invitational where she set hit an opener time of 23.46 which is 16th in the NCAA. Jacolby Shelton and Adam Clayton have their sights set on the 200 as well – both ran on the 4x100 relay teams last weekend but have yet to compete in the 200 this season.
