STARTERS
Texas Tech travels to TCU for the first time since 2018 for a three-game set starting Thursday. It will be the 179th edition of the series on Thursday, which is the longest-running series Tech has played against any one opponent in program history.
Chuck LaMendola and Connor Wanhanen will call the game from inside Lupton Stadium as coverage will be provided via Big 12 Now on ESPN+. The broadcast can be accessed from any desktop or laptop computer, any personal cellular device and television streaming services using the ESPN app. Registration for the subscription service can be found at ESPNPlus.com.
Texas Tech Sports Network will also broadcast the game over 46 affiliates throughout the state of Texas and New Mexico as Geoff Haxton will have the call alongside analyst, Jamie Lent. Thursday's contest will also be carried on satellite radio, via Big 12 radio on Sirius XM channel 375.

THREE-FOR-THREE
Texas Tech has started the 2022 Big 12 slate winning all three of its Big 12 series. The last time Tech won its first three Big 12 series was in 2016. That season, the Red Raiders won their first four Big 12 series before falling one game to three versus Texas in their fifth conference series of the year.Â
SCORING IN BUNCHES
Texas Tech ranks No. 1 in the nation in runs scored with 350 and Virginia is sitting behind with 331. Tech owns 14 different games of double-digit scoring this season and on March 15 in a 28-2 win against New Mexico, scored at least 28 runs in a game for just the seventh time in program history. Tech achieved that mark for the eighth time in program history less than three weeks later defeating Kansas 28-2.Â
KURT WILSON NAMED TO BROOKS WALLACE AWARD WATCH LIST
On April 12, Kurt Wilson was named to the initial 2022 Brooks Wallace Award watch list, the College Baseball Foundation announced. The award honors the nation's top shortstop. Last season, Texas Tech's Cal Conley was among the first 100 players unveiled to the initial watch list for the Brooks Wallace Award and was named the winner. Conley was the first Red Raider to win the award, which was established in 2004.
JACE JUNG NAMED TO GOLDEN SPIKES MIDSEASON WATCH
On April 5, USA Baseball unveiled that Texas Tech sophomore Jace Jung was named to the 2022 Golden Spikes Award midseason watch list, moving closer to naming the top amateur baseball player in the country. The midseason watch list features 45 of the nation's top amateur players from the high school and college ranks.
WALK IT OUT
Texas Tech batters have registered 225 walks this season after 36 games, ranking No. 1 in NCAA DI baseball. Jace Jung (TTU) and Brayden Taylor (TCU) share the nation's lead in walks, both with 36.Â
THE HITS KEEP COMING
Tech ranks No. 5 in the NCAA in hits with 387. UNLV (415), Georgia Tech (409), Texas (408) and Rutgers (391) are the only teams out-hitting the Red Raiders.

SCOUTING - TCU
- TCU is 21-12 and 10-4 at its home field. The Horned Frogs enter their series against Tech having lost four of their last five home games. They started 9-0 at home and until losing two of three to West Virginia, as well as nonconference games to Abilene Christian and UTSA.
- TCU shares the distinction with Tech as one of four teams in the Big 12 with a conference record better than. 500. Â
- TCU is in its first season under the direction of head coach Kirk Saarloos. While it is his first season, Saarloos has been with the program since 2013.Â
- TCU joins Texas Tech as one of the nation's best at drawing walks. Tech leads the nation with 225 walks while TCU is sixth in the nation with 198 walks.
- Jace Jung (TTU) and Brayden Taylor (TCU) share the nation's lead in walks, both with 36.Â
- In a vote of the league's head coaches, TCU was selected to finish fourth in the 2022 Preseason Big 12 Baseball Coaches' Poll.Â
- TCU's Brayden Taylor was one of six student-athletes (joined by Tech's Jace Jung) that were unanimous selections to the Big 12 preseason team. He is hitting .316 this season and owns a team-leading seven home runs.

- Thursday's meeting will be the 179th all-time between the two programs.
- The 178-game series is the most the Red Raiders have played against anyone opponent in program history.
