Tech finishes fourth at Cactus Match Play

Women’s golf played 27 match play holes in the season opener
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – The Texas Tech women's golf program competed at the Cactus Match Play event hosted by Texas A&M at the Westin Kierland Golf Club Sunday.
Battling cold and rainy conditions, No. 33 Texas Tech played 27 total holes of match play, nine holes each against No. 6 A&M, No. 16 SMU and No. 33 Tulsa.
Texas Tech finished fourth at the event, as A&M finished with 72.0 points to take home the title. SMU finished with 68.5 points to finish second followed by Tulsa (66.0) and the Red Raiders (63.5).
Players were awarded a full point for winning a hole, and a half-point for halving the hole. Tech opened the day with nine holes against Tulsa before clashing with A&M for another nine holes. The day concluded with nine more holes against SMU.
