
Dean secures finals spot in the 400 hurdles

Dean opened his outdoor campaign Thursday evening
AUSTIN, Texas – Caleb Dean booked a finals lane for Friday's 400m hurdles race in his very first outdoor meet of 2023 Thursday evening on day two of the 95th Texas Relays at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
Dean's last action of competition until tonight was finishing up as the national runner-up in the 60m hurdles at the NCAA Indoor Championships. Thursday, he clocked the second-fastest time in the country in the 400m hurdles at 49.74 – fastest time was clocked by Baylor's Nathaniel Ezekiel (49.24). Dean took his heat earning the big "Q".

- Fanny Arendt (2:08.44) and Marco Vilca (1:48.98) finished 8th and 11th in their 800m events, respectively.
