Red Raiders wrap of day three of Texas Relays

The Tech men debuted an DMR team for the first time this season
AUSTIN, Texas – The Texas Tech track and field team concluded day three of the 95th Texas Relays at Mike A. Myers Stadium Friday evening.
Tech's lone event win of the night was provided by the men's DMR team. Kirk Zuber, Shaemar Uter, Marco Vilca and EJ Rush combined for a time of 9:41.07. For the freshman Uter, it was his Red Raider outdoor debut and first time running since late January. Tech took first by more than two seconds and change over LSU.
Rosemary Chukwuma made her outdoor debut registering a time of 11.08 (2.8) in the 100m as she garnered the auto-qualifier for tomorrow's final. The wind-aided time of 11.08 is No. 4 all-time in the Tech books when it comes wind-aided times.

TTU debuted an "A" 4x100 relay for the first time this season as each Red Raider made their outdoor debut. The quartet of Terrence Jones, Courtney Lindsey, Don'Dre Swint and Jacolby Shelton clocked in at 39.61, placing second in their heat. In the "B" section of the men's discus, Devin Roberson placed second with a throw of 57.83m (189-8). On the other side of the field, Malin Smith and Field Gatlin competed in the "B" section of the shot put. Smith placed third with a SB mark of 16.02m (52-6.75). - Simone Watkins finished 6th overall in the 100 hurdles timed finals with a time of 13.73 (+5.5).
- Chris Welch (16.30m-53-5 ¾) and Onaara Obamuwagun (13.04m-42-9 ½) each finished 8th in the section "A" triple jump.
- Caleb Dean was a "DNS" in the 400m hurdles final.
- Tech women ran a DMR for the first time clocking in at 12:00.32.
