Tech will now get a full week off before the Big 12 Championships in two weeks
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech track and field team honored 35 seniors Saturday afternoon to cap off the two-day Corky/Crofoot Shootout at the Terry and Linda Fuller Track Complex.
One of the first huge marks/times of the day was provided in the hammer throw by Konner Wood. For the first time in his career, Wood launched the hammer over 60m with an official mark of 61.64m (202-3) to place third in the competition.
Meanwhile, later that day on the track, Courtney Lindsey clocked in a wind-legal time of 19.94 (1.3) in the 200m which was good for second place, behind a time of 19.79. Currently, that is the No. 2 time in the world only behind the heat winner. It also gives Lindsey the No. 3 time in Tech history. In the 400 hurdles, Sylvia Schulz finished third overall with a time of 57.08 – the No. 2 mark for Tech, giving her the top-2 times in the event.
