Lady Raiders host Kansas State for Senior Day

LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech Lady Raiders are at home for the final time this season before the conference tournament as they host the No. 14 Kansas State Wildcats for Senior Day on Saturday, March 2 at 2 p.m. in the United Supermarkets Arena.
Texas Tech (16-14, 5-12 Big 12) is coming off a loss at TCU on Wednesday. In that game, both Bailey Maupin and Jasmine Shavers totaled double-digit scoring nights with 19 and 18 points, respectively.
The Lady Raiders are currently holding opponents to 62.3 points per game and forcing 18.57 turnovers per game. They also rank first in conference play with .762 shooting from the free throw line.
Texas Tech is led in scoring by Shavers and Maupin, who both average more than 14 points per game with 14.8 and 14.1, respectively. Leading the Lady Raiders in rebounding is Kilah Freelon with 5.7 per game, followed by Jordyn Merritt with 5.6 and Shavers with 5.0. Maupin is almost at the 100 mark for assists this season as she has a team-best 98. In addition, Merritt (27) and Freelon (18) lead the Lady Raiders in blocks.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
The No. 14-ranked Kansas State Wildcats are 23-6 on the season and 12-5 in conference play. K-State has key wins against West Virginia, Baylor, Texas and Oklahoma. They are currently on a two-game skid after falling to Iowa State (76-82) and Kansas (55-58). As a team, the Wildcats are ranked 16th nationally with 18.6 assists per game and seventh with 5.6 blocks per game. They are holding opponents to just 35.8 percent from the field, which ranks 14th in the country. The Wildcats are led by two players who average double-figure scoring per game in Ayoka Lee (20.2) and Serena Sundell (11.9). Lee is almost averaging a double-double per game as she posts 8.4 rebounds each game, followed by Jaelyn Glenn with 4.3.
