LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech Lady Raiders head to Odessa, Texas for a neutral game against the Abilene Christian Wildcats on Dec. 14, 2025 at 2 p.m. in the OC Sports Center. Texas Tech leads the all-time series against Abilene Christian with a 14-3 record, winning the last matchup on Nov. 19, 2024 by a 66-40 score.
The Lady Raiders (11-0) defeated Washington State in Pullman by an 82-51 score on Friday night, their fifth-consecutive 20+ point victory. Tech had its second-best shooting performance of the season, going 32-for-60 from the field (.533) and 9-for-18 from behind the arc (.500) in the win. The Lady Raiders forced 24 Cougar turnovers, their seventh game forcing 20 or more turnovers in a game.
Tech added 18 assists against Washington State and recorded 18 steals, the most in a game since Nov. 24, 2012 against Nicholls State. Snudda Collins was perfect on the night - going 7-for-7 from the field and 4-for-4 from the free throw line... Just one field goal shy of tying the program record for most field goals made without a miss.
The Lady Raiders' defense has been stifling all season. Texas Tech has held its opponents to under 40 percent shooting from the field in all but one game, while holding eight teams to under 35 percent shooting from the field. Five times have the Lady Raiders held teams to under 20 percent shooting from beyond the arc.
The Scarlet & Black are holding teams to just 31.3 percent from the field to rank seventh nationally in the category, while also holding teams to 23.1 percent from the three to check in at fourth. In addition, the Lady Raiders are forcing 21.82 turnovers per game and are holding opponents to 52.0 points per game, which ranks 37th and 12th in the country, respectively.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
The Abilene Christian Wildcats are 6-3 on the season with key wins over Houston Christian, Incarnate Word and North Texas. Their three losses came against SFA, Northwestern and Bradley. As a team, the Wildcats are scoring 77.9 points per game and holding opponents to 59.1 points per game. Shooting 45.7 percent from the field, Abilene Christian are totaling 16.1 assists per game, 12.8 steals per game and forcing 23.0 turnovers per game, which is good for 18th nationally. There are four Wildcats averaging double-digit scoring on the season in Payton Hull (17.3), Meredith Mayes (15.7), Erin Woodson (13.6) and Emma Troxell (10.8). On the rebounding side, Mayes leads the way with 8.4 per game followed by Woodson with 5.4 per game.
