
Red Raiders set for Texas Tech Open

Texas Tech will be competing in its second XC meet of the season
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech cross country team will host its annual meet Friday morning at the LCU Cross Country Course (formerly Chaparral Ridge Golf Course). The men's 8k race will begin at 8:15 a.m., while the women's 6k race will follow right after at 8:50 a.m.

The Red Raiders are back in action following a week break as they previously opened the 2025 year in Las Cruces, N.M., at the Lori Fitzgerald Memorial Open on Aug. 30.
The men's side was paced by freshman runner Titus Kimaru who crossed the finish with a winning time of 13:52. Ernest Cheruiyot was second at 14:12. Both runners are slated to run Friday morning. Over on the women's side, Lily Mather placed second overall with a time of 17:34.
Following this meet, Tech will have two regular season meets remaining. On Friday, Sept. 26, the Red Raiders will travel to Columbia, Mo., for the Gans Creek Classic – home of the 2025 NCAA Cross Country Championships. The final regular season meet is set for Friday, Oct. 17 in College Station.
