Texas Tech set to host Stan Scott Invite

LUBBOCK, Texas– The Texas Tech track and field team is set to host its second regular season meet of the indoor season with the Stan Scott Invite taking place Friday inside the Sports Performance Center.

Big 12 Athletes of the Week
Following stellar performances this past weekend, Temitope Adeshina and Jonathan Seremes were named the Big 12 Athletes of the Week. Adeshina had a stellar season opener, winning the competition with a clearance of 1.93m (6-4), which ties her No. 2 all-time school record. tying her No. 2 all-time mark for Texas Tech. Seremes won the triple jump contest with the program's No. 2 all-time mark at 16.79m (55-1). All six of his attempts were over 16 meters, and five all are now in Tech's all-time top-10 list for the event. His mark of 16.79m currently ranks No. 1 in the world and NCAA.
What to Watch For
A majority of the Tech distance runners on the men's side will look to make their debuts. This includes Stephen Mutai in the mile, Victor Kipkoech is entered in both the mile and 3k, while Titus Kimaru is entered in only the mile.
Ruta Lasmane, the 2024 NCAA Indoor triple jump champion, is slated to make her season debut in the triple jump. Her season was cut short last year due to a ruptured achilles after her first indoor meet. Naomi Krebs will look to open the season in her specialty, the 60m hurdles. In the same event for the men's, Malachi Snow will also look to open his 2026 season.
