Utes up next for the No. 19 Lady Raiders

LUBBOCK, Texas – The No. 19 Texas Tech Lady Raiders head to Salt Lake City for a game against the Utah Utes on Jan. 24 at 5 PM MST/6 PM CT in the Jon M. Huntsman Center. Texas Tech leads the all-time series against Utah, 3-2, winning the last meeting at the Big 12 Tournament in Kansas City, Mo., on March 6, 2025 by a 75-64 score.
In Tech's last game at BYU, Jalynn Bristow recorded nine points, 11 rebounds and six blocks. It was her second game this season totaling six or more blocks in a game, as she now ranks 10th nationally and first in the Big 12 with 46 blocks. Her 2.19 blocks per game is also 19th in the nation and first in conference. She tallies a team-high 13 games with 2+ blocks and 19 games with 5+ rebounds. She also leads the Lady Raiders with 15 and 14 games where she led Tech in rebounds and blocks, respectively.
Texas Tech has made six or more 3-pointers over the last seven games, tallying 59 made threes during that span. In Tech's game against K-State, Tech went 9-for-20 from behind the arc (.450), led by Bailey Maupin with four of those. The Lady Raiders tied a season-best of 13 threes against Arizona on Jan. 3. Texas Tech is ranked 45th nationally in three-point percentage (.349) and are making 7.9 3-pointers per game, which is sixth in the Big 12.
The Lady Raiders are one of the best teams in the country on defense. Tech ranks 15th in the nation and second in the Big 12, holding teams to 55.0 points per game. The Lady Raiders are holding teams to 25.6 percent from behind the arc as well as 34.9 percent from the field to rank 14th and ninth nationally in those respective categories. The Lady Raiders' 5.8 blocks per game is good for 12th nationally, while they are forcing 20.43 turnovers per game to check in at third in the Big 12.

The Utah Utes are 14-5 overall and 5-2 in the Big 12. Currently receiving votes in the AP Poll, Utah has key wins over TCU, Houston, Kansas State and Arizona. Their two conference losses were against Arizona State and Baylor. The Utes are averaging 70.3 points per game and holding opponents to 62.1 points per game. Shooting 44.0 percent from the field and 35.2 percent from three, Utah is averaging 40.9 rebounds per game and 17.5 assists per game. Lani White leads the team with 14.5 points per game, the only player to average double figures on the season. On the rebounding side, Reese Ross is leading the way with 7.9 per game, followed by White with 5.3.
