         Played at Howard College for one season (2012) for head coach Britt Smith... earned        honorable mention all-conference... as a freshman went 5-1 with a 2.70 ERA in 13        appearances (5 starts) with two saves, 40 innings, 29 hits allowed, 12 earned runs allowed        with 47 strikeouts and 12 walks allowed... pitched at least five innings on four occasions        and tallied four or more strikeouts six times... struck out a season-high nine batters        against Western Texas (4/7) in six innings of work... struck out six batters in collegiate        debut pitching three innings against Lubbock Christian (2/25)... helped lead team to a        45-12 overall record and to a conference championship and NJCAA Region V runner-up        finish.

         A three-year varsity letterwinner at Piedra Vista High School for head coach Mike        Mcgaha... as a senior pitched 70 innings with a 2.30 ERA while batting .420 with three home        runs, seven triples and 41 RBI... earned all-state and all-district honors... helped guide        team to 2011 state championship... earned all-district as a junior in 2010... participated        with the Strikezone Cardinals at the Connie Mack World Series.          Dominic Edward Moreno... born March 12, 1993, in Tucson, Ariz.... son of Daniel and Regina        Moreno... has a sister, Alexandria... a mass communications major at Texas Tech.
            Moreno was drafted in the 33rd round of the 2014 Major League Baseball First-Year Players Draft by the St. Louis Cardinals.
