2017 SEASON (SENIOR)
Turned into a huge presence in the middle of Texas Tech’s defensive line as a senior … started in all 13 games at nose tackle … joined Dakota Allen and Broderick Washington as the only Red Raider defensive players to start in all 13 games … finished second among interior linemen with 41 tackles (25 solo) … had three tackles for a loss, including one sack … contributed to Texas Tech’s rise in turnovers with an interception and two fumble recoveries … recorded at least two tackles in all 13 games during the season … IN NCAA RANKINGS: ranked tied for 26th nationally with two fumble recoveries … IN BIG 12 RANKINGS: ended the year tied for the conference high in fumble recoveries … SEASON HIGHLIGHTS … began the season with three tackles, one of which was shared for a loss against Eastern Washington (9/2) … posted four tackles, including his first career sack, versus Arizona State (9/16) … had an fumble recovery late in the first quarter, his first of the season and second of his career … notched four or more tackles in three of the next four games as well against Houston (9/23), Kansas (10/7) and West Virginia (10/14) … lone exception during that span was three tackles in the Big 12 opener versus Oklahoma State (9/30) … began a streak of four-straight games with two tackles against Iowa State (10/21) … recorded his lone quarterback hurry of the season versus the Cyclones as well … also had two tackles against Oklahoma (10/28), Kansas State (11/4) and Baylor (11/11) … pulled down a deflected pass for his first career interception in that Kansas State game … recovered his final fumble of the year versus Baylor … followed with three tackles the following week against TCU (11/18) … closed the regular season with a career-high five tackles in win at Texas (11/24) … one of those tackles went for a two yard loss … recorded three tackles, including 0.5 for a loss, in the Birmingham Bowl versus USF … AWARDS AND HONORS … All-Big 12 honorable mention selection by the conference coaches.

Appeared in 10 games during his first season as a Red Raider … logged eight tackles (five solo), including two that went for a loss … also recorded a quarterback hurry and pass breakup … SEASON HIGHLIGHTS … made debut with two tackles, including one for a loss, in season opener versus Stephen F. Austin (9/3) … recorded a tackle against Kansas (9/29), West Virginia (10/15), Oklahoma (10/22) and Texas (11/5) … his tackle against Texas went for a loss … also posted his first career pass breakup against Oklahoma … matched his season high with two tackles in road win at TCU (10/29) … ended the year with a quarterback hurry in victory over Baylor (11/25).
