Attended Arlington High School in Arlington, Texas ... one of the top linebackers in the state his senior year ... recorded 191 tackles as a senior on the way to being named the Class 6A All-State Defensive Player of the Year by Texas Associated Press Sports Editors (AP) ... garnered first-team All-State honors by the Associated Press as well as the Texas Sports Writers Association ... also earned first team All-District accolades ... averaged 17 tackles a game on the year ... added 11 tackles for loss, two sacks, three forced fumbles, three blocked field goals and one interception during senior season.
