2018 SEASON (SENIOR)
Earned the starting nod at center once again to wrap his Red Raider career … appeared and started in 10 games overall, missing two due to injury … had started in 26-consecutive games before missing the Thursday night road victory at TCU (10/11) … also missed the final road game of the season at Kansas State (11/17) … ended his career with 31 starts on the offensive line, second-most on the offense … was the lone senior starter on the offensive line … part of an offensive line that ranked fourth in the Big 12 with only 2.08 sacks allowed per game … line surrendered 25 sacks despite protecting for 535 pass attempts, which led the Big 12 and ranked sixth nationally … Red Raiders ended the season among the top offenses in the country, ranking third in passing yards per game, 12th in total offense and 16th in scoring offense … AWARDS AND HONORS: preseason candidate for the Rimington Trophy (nation's top center).
2017 SEASON (JUNIOR)
Became the starting center as a junior … started and played in all 13 games for the Red Raiders … started in 21-consecutive games entering his senior season, which ranks second on the team … veteran on an offensive line that featured a true freshman (Jack Anderson) at right guard and three sophomores (Travis Bruffy, Madison Akamnonu, Terence Steele) in the starting lineup … part of a Texas Tech offense that ranked in the top 25 nationally for passing offense (9th), total offense (16th) and scoring offense (23rd) … offensive line also helped pave the way for 140.9 rushing yards per game, an improvement by nearly 40 yards from 2016 … AWARDS AND HONORS: named an All-Big 12 honorable mention selection by the conference coaches.
2016 SEASON (REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE)
Appeared in eight games along the offensive line while making eight starts … all of his starts came over the final eight games of the season … switched between time at left guard and right guard throughout the year … made his first career start at right guard at Kansas State (10/8) … also made starts on the right side against West Virginia (10/15), TCU (10/29), Texas (11/5), Iowa State (11/19) and Baylor (11/25) … his two starts at left guard came against Oklahoma (10/22) and Oklahoma State (11/12) … member of a Red Raider offense that led the nation in passing offense and total offense … unit also ranked among the nation’s leaders in third-down conversion percentage (third), first downs offense (third) and scoring offense (fifth).
