Appeared in 10 games on the defensive line or on special teams … missed three games on the year due to personal matters … lone tackle on the year came in season opener versus Eastern Washington (9/2) … was a huge part of Texas Tech’s special teams efforts ... AWARDS AND HONORS ... named to the Academic All-Big 12 first team for the third time in his career.
2016 SEASON (JUNIOR)
Appeared in all 12 games as a junior while making two starts … member of most of Texas Tech’s special teams units … also saw significant time on the defensive line … two starts came against Oklahoma (10/22) and TCU (10/29) … did not record a tackle on the season but managed one quarterback hurry … took part in one of the Red Raiders’ top special teams plays of the year at Oklahoma State … helped Tech secure a first down after catching a 15-yard pass from Michael Barden on a fake punt attempt … AWARDS AND HONORS … Academic All-Big 12 first team selection ... recognized as the McAuley Distinguished Engineering Student Award recipient through the Ed Whitacre College of Engineering in May 2017.
