Red Raiders continue their fall season at Baylor

LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech Red Raiders head back out on the road again as they head to compete in the Waco Fall Tennis Classic hosted by the Baylor Bears on Sept. 12-14.

Sebastian Abboud, Ludovico Vaccari, Felipe Pagnacco and Thomas Van Den Dooren will all head to Waco, Texas to compete against players from teams such as Rice, SMU, Texas A&M, ACU and the University of Texas.

Last season, Vaccari led the team in dual singles wins, in Big 12 singles wins and ended the season with three match clinches. Vaccari posted five doubles wins, primarily playing on court two with doubles partner Tyler Stewart. Pagnacco also finished the season with five doubles and 10 overall victories in singles, primarily on court five.

Last week at the Midland Racquet Club Invitational, Abboud made it to the quarterfinals of the back draw before falling to Dante Carlos Teramo, 6-2, 6-2. He had a strong showing in doubles, making it all the way to the semifinals before losing in a close match to the duo of Emmett Potter and Teramo of Utah, 9-8 (4).

This weekend, the Red Raiders will feature two new doubles teams of Abboud and Van Den Dooren as well as Pagnacco and Vaccari. Van Den Dooren looks to hit the courts for the first time as a Red Raider.

The main draw for doubles will begin at 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12 and singles will begin shortly after at 2.pm. Friday afternoon.
