September 04, 2025 | Men's Tennis
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech men's tennis team is set to open its fall season at the Racquet Club Collegiate Invitational on Sept. 5-7. Representing the Red Raiders in their first tournament are Niksa Arsic, Tyler Stewart, Thiago Guglieri and Sebastian Abboud, who will travel to Midland over the weekend.
Â
Fifth-year senior Abboud enters the fall following an impressive 2025 season, finishing with a 15-7 overall singles record including a dominating 9-2 record on court six. Abboud led the team in singles wins with 15 and secured three match-clinching victories, the most on the team. His consistency and ability to step up in critical moments made him one of Tech's most reliable performers last season.
Â
Arsic also posted a strong season, closing out 2025 with a 13-10 singles record. Most of his success came from court two, where he finished with six wins, while ranking third on the team in dual singles victories (9). Also traveling to Midland is fifth-year senior Stewart and sophomore Guglieri. Stewart, who picked up six singles wins and nine doubles victories last year, brings valuable leadership and experience. Guglieri looks to build on a promising freshman season where he earned nine singles wins, ranking third on the team in that category.
