LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech Red Raiders host the Nebraska Huskers and the Wichita State Shockers this weekend. Tech will welcome Nebraska on Friday at 3 p.m. at the McLeod Tennis Center, before hosting the Shockers on Saturday at 1 p.m. indoors at the Lubbock Country Club (3400 Mesa Road).
Â
Texas Tech (1-1) opened its spring season with a 5-2 win over Southern Miss, securing the doubles point and with early straight-set singles victories. The Red Raiders later dropped their contest to Denver on the road, 3-4, despite earning the doubles point and fighting back in singles. Niksa Arsic picked up a three-set win after the match was clinched, while Denver secured the deciding points by winning two, third-set battles.
Â
Texas Tech and Nebraska (4-0) have faced off in men's tennis 22 times over the years, with the Cornhuskers winning the last meeting on Feb. 23, 2024 by a 4-1 score. However, the Red Raiders have won 14 of the last 15 meetings against Nebraska. Texas Tech has won all 12 matchups versus Wichita State (2-4) in their history, including their most recent victory coming in a 4-3 win last February in Kansas.

Nebraska enters its matchup with a strong 4-0 start to the 2026 season, highlighted by a comeback victory over Memphis and a sweep of Drake. The Huskers have largely excelled at home so far, with all four wins coming Lincoln. The Shockers schedule has been road-heavy and challenging, where they have struggled with a 2-4 record, including losses at Utah State and New Mexico State.
