2021 SEASON (SENIOR)
Put his name in the Texas Tech record book during his final year as a Red Raider … became known for the big kick as one of the most accurate kickers in college football … was 15-of-16 on field goal attempts and 49-of-50 on PATs after being called upon in 12 games … was a perfect 14-for-14 on each of his attempts within 50 yards … found the uprights on each of his first 13 attempts to start the season … two of his field goals were game winners with late kicks in victories over both West Virginia and Iowa State … utilized on kickoffs once with his lone attempt going for a touchback … IN NCAA RECORD BOOK: his 62-yard field goal versus Iowa State marked the longest by an FBS kicker to win a game with less than a minute remaining … field goal was the third-longest successful attempt by a FBS kicker since the NCAA disallowed the use of kicking tees in 1988 … was the longest kick by a FBS kicker since Zach Hintze of Wisconsin was successful from the same distance in a 2019 game versus Texas A&M in 1977 … set the career record for field goal percentage, narrowly edging Hatfield’s previous mark of 84.7 percent with a 85.2 percentage of his own (23-of-27) … IN NCAA RANKINGS: closed the season ranked sixth nationally in field goal percentage (93.8), 44th in scoring per game (7.8) and 51st in field goals per game (1.25) … boasted the longest field goal in the FBS with his 62-yard attempt versus Iowa State … IN BIG 12 RANKINGS: was the Big 12 leader in field goal percentage and ranked fourth for field goals per game and fifth for scoring per game … SEASON HIGHLIGHTS: called on only three times in non-conference play, hitting from 34 yards against Houston (9/4) and then 21 and 28 yards versus Florida International (9/18) … played a key role in win at West Virginia (10/2), finding the uprights from 33, 29 and 32 yards out … final field goal from 32 yards out put the Red Raiders ahead 23-20 with 18 seconds remaining, marking the second game-winner of his career at the time … tabbed the Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week following the win … combined for four successful field goals the next three weeks, which came from 38 yards against TCU (10/9), 28 and 48 yards at Kansas (10/16) and 27 yards against Kansas State (10/23) … biggest performance of his career was in the memorable win over Iowa State (11/13) that pushed the Red Raiders back to bowl most-consecutive attempts … recovered to make two field goals in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl against Mississippi State (12/28), finding the uprights from 31 and 26 yards … matched the Texas Tech bowl record for most made field goals that had been accomplished seven times previously … AWARDS AND HONORS: named to the All-Big 12 first team by the conference coaches … became first Red Raider kicker to be tabbed to the first team since Clayton Hatfield in 2018 … joined Hatfield and Alex Trilica (2007) as the only kickers in the Big 12 era to garner first team accolades … received votes for Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Year … selected as a semifinalist for the Lou Groza Award … tabbed the Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week twice (Oct. 4 and Nov. 15) following wins over West Virginia and Iowa State … marked the second and third times in his career to receive the award … joined Wes Welker as the only Red Raiders in program history to be named the conference’s top special teams player over three different weeks in school history … honored for work in the classroom as part of the Academic All-Big 12 second team … SENIOR DECISION: elected to forego his final season of eligibility in order to enter the 2022 NFL Draft.
2020 SEAS0N (REDSHIRT JUNIOR)
Earned the starting kicker role late in the season … appeared in five games overall either as a kickoff specialist or primary place kicker … all five appearances came over the final five games of the season … finished 8-for-11 on field goal attempts and was 6-for-7 on PATs … was a perfect 4-for-4 from inside 40 yards out … closed the year 4-for-7 overall from at least 40 yards out … connected on at least one field goal from at least 40 yards in each of the three games since being promoted to the primary field goal kicker … averaged 57.7 yards per kickoff over his 23 attempts with seven of those going for touchbacks … called on to punt six times as well, averaging 47.8 yards per boot with three going at least 50 yards … SEASON HIGHLIGHTS: made his Red Raider debut as a kickoff specialist versus Oklahoma (10/31) … both his kickoffs went for touchbacks against the Sooners … returned to the role the following week at TCU (11/7), averaging 59.0 yards per kickoff … served as the Red Raiders’ punter, kickoff specialist and place kicker against Baylor … was a perfect 4-for-4 on field goal attempt in his debut in the role, which included the game-winner from 25 yards out at the end of regulation … found the uprights from 48 yards out on his first career attempt to wrap Texas Tech’s first offensive possession … also connected from 28 and 46 yards out in the win … marked the most successful field goals for a Red Raider in a single game since Ryan Bustin also had four in a 2013 victory over Kansas … became only the sixth kicker in Big 12 history to make four field goals in his career debut as the primary field goal specialist and just the second to do so versus a conference opponent, joining Colorado’s Jeremy Aldrich, who did so in 1998 against Nebraska … the game-winning field goal, meanwhile, was the first by a Red Raider to end regulation since Bustin hit from 28 yards out to send Tech to a victory over Minnesota in the 2012 Meineke Car Care Bowl … punted five times as well, averaging an impressive 49.4 yards with three attempts going at least 50 yards and one landing inside the 20 … earned Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week accolades following the game … performance came in front of family who traveled from California to see him play for first time at the collegiate level … was surprised by his family following a team walk-through on the night prior to the game … connected on his lone field goal attempt from 44 yards out two weeks later at Oklahoma State (11/28), while also punting one for 40 yards … closed the season by going 3-for-6 on field goal attempts against Kansas (12/5) … found the uprights from 47, 21 and 36 yards out and missed from 40, 41 and 45 yards … AWARDS AND HONORS: named the Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week on Nov. 16 following his performance versus Baylor … marked the sixth-consecutive year a Red Raider had collected the honor at one point in the season.

Transferred to Texas Tech following two seasons at Riverside City College in his native California ... responsible for field goals, kickoffs and punting duties during junior college career ... combined to finish 15-of-20 on field goal attempts over his two seasons and was 106-of-112 on PATs ... listed as the No. 4 junior college kicker in the country by 247Sports ... CHOSE TEXAS TECH OVER: Texas State and Utah State ... 2018 SEASON (SOPHOMORE): helped lead Riverside to an 11-1 record as a sophomore with the lone loss coming in the Southern California Football Association (SCFA) regional championship game … named to the All-SCFA first team each of his two seasons … was 9-of-12 on field goal attempts as a sophomore and 46-of-50 on PATs … longest field goal came on a 47-yarder against Southwestern … also handled punting duties, averaging 40.1 yards per attempt … downed 26 of his 51 punts on the year inside the 20 and had 11 others fair caught ... handled kickoff duties throughout his junior college career ... 2017 SEASON (FRESHMAN): served as the primary kicker and punter for a Riverside team that finished 10-2 overall ... finished 6-of-8 on field goal attempts with his longest coming from 46 yards … was also 60-of-62 on PATs for 78 points … averaged 39.3 yards per punt over 48 attempts, 11 of which were downed inside the 20.
