2021 SEASON (SENIOR)
Closed his Red Raider career by appearing in 12 games as a senior … one of the top walk-on tales in recent memory, rising from a speedy unknown to a key contributor over his career … missed only the regular-season finale at Baylor (11/27) … caught 12 passes for 155 yards in his final season, while also rushing once for nine yards … bulk of receiving yards came in the front half of the season … added three tackles via special teams, all of which came on kickoff coverage … was Texas Tech’s highest-graded player on special teams after receiving a 77.3 grade via Pro Football Focus … credited with 118 snaps on special teams with 67 coming on kickoffs, 36 on punt returns and 15 on punt returns … listed with 170 snaps on offense as part of the inside receiver rotation … CAREER NUMBERS: caught 62 passes for 803 yards and five touchdowns over 37 games as a Red Raider … also rushed even times for 21 yards, while collecting five tackles on special teams … SEASON HIGHLIGHTS: on the receiving end of a four-yard gain on his only catch in the season-opening win over Houston (9/4) … broke loose for a 59-yard reception two weeks later against Florida International (9/18), his longest catch of the season … called down at the 1-yard line, setting up a SaRodorick Thompson touchdown run the following play to give the Red Raiders a 21-14 lead in the second quarter … hauled in three catches in each of the next two weeks at Texas (9/25) and at West Virginia (10/2), resulting in 47 yards versus the Longhorns and 16 yards in the win over Mountaineers … followed with two catches for 18 yards against TCU (10/9) … final two catches of the year went for six and five yards gains, respectively, at Kansas (10/16) and at Oklahoma (10/30) … SENIOR DECISION: chose not to return for a super senior season in order to pursue a career in law enforcement.
2020 SEAS0N (JUNIOR)
Remained a mainstay at the inside receiver position as a junior … appeared in seven games overall with two starts … earned the start in the season opener against Houston Baptist and then against late in the season at Oklahoma State … has 12 starts now for his career, which ranks fifth among Red Raider offensive players returning for the 2021 season … caught 13 passes on the season for 133 yards while also adding a tackle … recorded at least two receptions in three games overall … missed three games during the month of October against the likes of Kansas State (10/3), West Virginia (10/24) and Oklahoma (10/31) … SEASON HIGHLIGHTS: opened the year with a season high five catches for 46 yards against Houston Baptist (9/12) … followed with four catches for 39 yards in the Big 12 opener against Texas (9/26) … combined for four catches for 48 yards over his five remaining appearances … had one catch for 24 yards at Iowa State (10/10), which marked his longest reception of the season … hauled in two catches for nine yards in the win over Baylor (11/14) and then one reception for 15 yards at Oklahoma State (11/28) … notched only the second tackle of his career in the season finale against Kansas (12/5).
2019 SEASON (SOPHOMORE)
Emerged as one of the top receivers as only a sophomore … one of eight Red Raiders who were placed on scholarship in a surprise presentation during preseason camp … appeared and started in 10 games before an injury caused him to miss the final two contests of the year … utilized as Texas Tech’s primary starter at the inside ‘H’ position … finished the year with 34 catches for 486 yards and five touchdowns, all of which led the inside receiver group … ranked second on the team in touchdown catches, fourth in receiving yards and fifth for receptions … also carried six times on the year for 12 yards … caught at lest two passes in eight of his 10 games played … emerged late in Big 12 play as a big-play threat with touchdowns in each of his final three games … ranked third on the team with six catches of 25 yards or longer, four of which resulted in a touchdown … SEASON HIGHLIGHTS: opened the season with a then career-high six catches for 62 yards against Montana State (8/31) … followed the next week with five catches for 83 yards and a touchdown in win over UTEP (9/7) … touchdown came on a 49-yard strike from Alan Bowman late in the first half … marked his second-longest reception of the season … limited to six catches over the next four weeks … three of those came at Arizona (9/14) with two more the following week in the Big 12 opener at Oklahoma (9/28) … totaled 19 yards through the air versus the Wildcats and then 37 against the Sooners … held to only one catch for an eight-yard touchdown in the top-25 victory over Oklahoma State (10/5) … touchdown pushed the Red Raiders’ lead to 34-14 in the third quarter … came back a few weeks later with three catches for 20 yards against Iowa State (10/19) … totaled at least 75 receiving yards in each of his final three games of the season … stretch began with a career-high seven catches for 76 yards and a touchdown at Kansas (10/26) … broke a 27-27 tie early in the fourth quarter on a 48-yard scoring strike from Jett Duffey against the Jayhawks … recorded his first career 100-yard game two weeks later in the win at West Virginia (11/9) … finished with 106 receiving yards on only three receptions versus the Mountaineers … bulk of yards came on a 81-yard touchdown pass to start Texas Tech’s second drive of the afternoon … marked the longest play of his career and the longest play from scrimmage for any Red Raider on the season … closed his season with four catches for 75 yards and a touchdown versus TCU (11/16) … was injured early in the second half, effectively ending his season … had already hauled in a 26-yard touchdown pass early in the second quarter.
2018 SEASON (REDSHIRT FRESHMAN)
Saw significant playing time on both offense and special teams as a redshirt freshman … played in seven games on the year, including the first five … caught three passes for 29 yards overall, while also adding a tackle on special teams … all three catches came in the first two games of the year versus Ole Miss (9/1) and Lamar (9/8) … hauled in a pair of passes for 19 yards versus the Rebels and then added a 10-yard reception the following week against the Cardinals … notched his first career tackle against TCU (10/11).
2017 SEASON (FRESHMAN)
Appeared in only one game as a true freshman, which came as a reserve receiver in the season opener against Eastern Washington … impressed coaches and teammates with his speed early in preseason practices … made the travel squad for several games during Big 12 play … rewarded a redshirt for this season by the NCAA in the spring of 2018.
HIGH SCHOOL
Attended Perryton High School in Perryton, Texas … multi-sport athlete who competed in football, basketball and track and field … was a unanimous District 1-4A Division II first team selection as a senior … earned honorable mention All-State accolades by the Texas Sportswriters Association … claimed the Class 4A state title his senior year in the long jump … also came in fifth place in the 200-meter dash.
