2020 SEAS0N (SOPHOMORE)
Regular in the secondary throughout sophomore season … appeared in all 10 games with three starts at cornerback … recorded eight tackles on the year to go along with an interception and four pass breakups … matched his tackle total from his true freshman season while also doubling his number of pass breakups … joined Zech McPhearson as the only Red Raiders with an interception on the season … three starts on the year came in the season opener versus Houston Baptist as well as at Kansas State and TCU … chipped in on special teams as one of Texas Tech’s kick returners, averaging 16.0 yards over his seven attempts … SEASON HIGHLIGHTS: start against Houston Baptist (9/12) marked the first of his career … broke on a Sam Ehlinger pass for his first career interception two weeks later in the Big 12 opener against Texas (9/26) … returned the interception 24 yards to the Texas 10 yard line, setting up an eventual SaRodorick Thompson touchdown run the next play … had a career-high two pass breakups in the game as well … posted his first two tackles of the year the next week at Kansas State (10/3) … came a tackle shy of his career high at Iowa State (10/10) with three in the loss … made one tackle against both West Virginia (10/24) and Oklahoma (10/31) … served as the primary kick returner over the course of the Iowa State, West Virginia and Oklahoma games … longest return during that stretch was 26 yards versus the Mountaineers … had a pass breakup in the win over the Mountaineer as well … recorded his final tackle and pass breakup of the year against Kansas (12/5).
2019 SEASON (FRESHMAN)
Saw significant action as only a true freshman … appeared in eight games overall - all in Big 12 play - either on special teams or in the secondary … one of four true freshmen on the defensive side of the ball to appear in five or more games … totaled eight tackles on the season (seven solo) with two pass breakups … SEASON HIGHLIGHTS: broke up his first career pass in his collegiate debut against Oklahoma State (10/5) … recorded his first career tackle a week later at Baylor (10/12) … also had a tackle in road games at Kansas (10/26), West Virginia (11/9) and Texas (11/29) … notched his best performance of the season came against TCU (11/16), posting a season-high four tackles to go along with a pass breakup.
