2020 SEASON (REDSHIRT JUNIOR)
Returned from injury to start and play in all 10 games as a redshirt junior … closed his Red Raider career with 38 starts, which was tied for the team high at the end of the season … started at right guard in every game of his Red Raider career … part of an offensive line that surrendered 1.60 sacks per game, which ranked 30th nationally and third in the Big 12 … unit also closed the year averaging only 5.40 tackles for a loss per game, which ranked second in the conference … elected to the team captains circle in a vote by his teammates ... Redshirt season … played and started in three games before a shoulder injury ended his season … earned starts at his normal spot at right guard against Montana State, Arizona and Oklahoma … missed the UTEP game due to injury, ending a streak of 26-consecutive starts to that point … AWARDS AND HONORS: Academic All-Big 12 first team selection … was named to the All-Big 12 Preseason Team prior to the season.
2018 SEASON (SOPHOMORE)
Put together another strong season as Texas Tech’s starting right guard … earned the start in all 12 games of the season at right guard … has now started in all 25 games of his career entering the 2019 season … part of an offensive line that ranked fourth in the Big 12 with only 2.08 sacks allowed per game … line surrendered 25 sacks despite protecting for 535 pass attempts, which led the Big 12 and ranked sixth nationally … Red Raiders ended the season among the top offenses in the country, ranking third in passing yards per game, 12th in total offense and 16th in scoring offense … AWARDS AND HONORS: named to the All-Big 12 second team by the conference coaches and the Associated Press … marked the first time a Red Raider offensive lineman had earned first or second team honors since Le’Raven Clark in 2015 … recognized on the All-Texas offensive team by Dave Campbell’s Texas Football … recognized on the All-Big 12 first team by Pro Football Focus ... named to the Academic All-Big 12 first team for his work in the classroom.
