Became Texas Tech’s second-leading tackler as a sophomore … played and started in all 12 games … joined Breiden Fehoko as the only Red Raider defensive players to start in all 12 games … now started in each of his past 25 games dating back to the start of his 2015 redshirt freshman campaign … posted 77 tackles on the year (57 solo) … also had three tackles for a loss, a sack as well as three forced fumbles and a fumble recovery … picked off a team-high two passes in the secondary while breaking up six others … his six pass breakups were tied for second on the team … IN NCAA RANKINGS: ranked 27th for forced fumbles per game (0.25) … IN BIG 12 RANKINGS: ended the year tied with Dorance Armstrong Jr. (Kansas) for the league high in forced fumbles per game … ranked 17th in the league for passes defended per game (0.67) and 18th for tackles per game (6.4) … all three of his forced fumbles came during Big 12 play which was tied for the league high with Armstrong … was also 17th in both tackles per game (6.7) and passes defended per game (0.78) during conference action … SEASON HIGHLIGHTS: opened the year with four tackles in season opener against Stephen F.
