Appeared in five games during his lone season as a Red Raider โฆ utilized primarily as a reserve offensive lineman and on special teams โฆ transitioned to a blocking tight end role late in the season โฆ saw action against Eastern Washington (9/2), Arizona State (9/16), Oklahoma State (9/30), Kansas (10/7) and TCU (11/18).

Attended McEachern High School in Powder Springs, Ga. โฆ recognized as one of the top linemen in the state of Georgia coming out of high school โฆ named an All-State selection as a senior in 2012 by the Georgia Sportswriters Association and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution โฆ helped lead McEachern to an 8-3 record and a sport in the Class 6A playoffs โฆ earned first team all-state, all-region and all-county honors as a senior โฆ selected to play in the Georgia North/South All-Star Game after leading the team with 51 pancake blocks โฆ started in the Cobb County Senior Bowl โฆ served as a team captain as a senior as well โฆ also lettered in both basketball and track and field โฆ rated a four-start recruit by Rivals, ESPN, Scout and 247Sports โฆ recruited by the likes of Maryland, Cincinnati, East Carolina, Georgia, Georgia Southern, Kentucky, Miami, Mississippi State, Missouri, North Carolina, Ole Miss, South Carolina and Wake Forest โฆ recruited out of high school by current Tech offensive line coach Brandon Jones, who was on the staff at East Carolina at the time.
