2021 SEASON (SENIOR)
One of four walk-ons who were placed on scholarship as part of a surprise presentation prior to the season … appeared in six games during his final season as a Red Raider before suffering a season-ending injury … made two tackles on the season, including his first-career sack … tackles came against Florida International (9/18) and at Texas (9/25) … his stop against FIU went for a one-yard sack, the first of his career … AWARDS AND HONORS: recognized for his work in the classroom as part of the Academic All-Big 12 first team … SENIOR DECISION: elected not to return to the Red Raiders for a possible super senior season.
2020 SEAS0N (JUNIOR)
Appeared in four games along the defensive line as a junior, all in Big 12 play … totaled two tackles on the season after joining the rotation against West Virginia (10/24) … also saw action versus Oklahoma (10/31), TCU (11/7) and Baylor (11/14) … recorded one tackle against both the Mountaineers and Sooners ... was the primary backup at nose tackle during the final half of the season.

Transferred to Texas Tech following two years at Eastern New Mexico in Portales ... appeared in one game for the Greyhounds, which came against UTPB during his 2018 redshirt freshman season ... suffered an injury soon after that ended his season ... transferred to Texas Tech in the summer of 2019 ... previously redshirted his 2017 true freshman season.

Troy Te’o … was born and lived in Australia for most of his childhood before moving to Lubbock in 2014 ... father hails from Auckland, New Zealand, while his mother is a native of Seattle ... has two brothers and a younger sister who all made the move to the United States ... played rugby growing up before adapting to American football at the age of 13 ... a general studies major at Texas Tech.
