PERSONAL
- Limited to only seven games as a junior due to a midseason injury … suffered a season-ending knee injury in the Homecoming game against Baylor (10/19) … had started in six of seven games to that point, failing to be in the opening rotation only in the road trip to Arizona (10/5).
- Totaled 16 tackles on the season, including 3.0 that went for a loss … recorded at least one tackle in each of the first six games until the injury against Baylor and had two or more stops in five of those contests … had at least a share of one tackle for loss in each of the first three games of the season … added a quarterback hurry and a blocked kick overall.
- Credited with 273 defensive snaps by Pro Football Focus, creating 11 total pressures (2 quarterback hits and nine hurries) according to the publication.
- Opened the season with three tackles in the win over Abilene Christian (8/31), including a shared stop that went for a two-yard loss … matched his career high with five tackles a week later at Washington State (9/7) with one going for a loss … closed non-conference play with three tackles, including a season-high 1.5 for loss, in the win over North Texas (9/14).
- Began Big 12 play with only one tackle in the win over Arizona State (9/21) … performance was more-fondly remembered for his blocked PAT that kept Texas Tech’s lead at eight points late in the third quarter ... marked the second blocked kick of his career, both of which have impacted Red Raider wins.
- Followed with two tackles in each of the next two games against Cincinnati (9/28) and at Arizona … one quarterback hurry on the season came in the win over the Bearcats … was injured early in the first half of the Baylor game to end his season.
2023 SEASON (SOPHOMORE)
- Developed into a key contributor on the interior defensive line as a sophomore … appeared in nine games overall with one start despite missing time early in the season due to injury … held out of the final two games of non-conference play against Oregon (9/9) and Tarleton State (9/16) as well as the first two contests in Big 12 play.
- Finished with 15 tackles on the season (10 solo), including 4.5 for a loss and 1.5 sacks … also recorded a blocked kick on special teams and a quarterback hurry … credited with appearing in 231 defensive snaps on the season by Pro Football Focus.
- Opened the season with three tackles at Wyoming (9/2), which featured his first career sack … combined with Trent Low for a key sack midway through the second quarter that forced a Wyoming punt.
- Missed the next four games before returning at Baylor (10/7) … set a career-high at the time with four tackles in the win over the Bears, including one that went for a loss … stuffed a Baylor rush attempt inside the red zone for a loss, eventually forcing the Bears into a field goal … posted one tackle versus Kansas State (10/14) the following week.
- Registered two stops in the regular season finale at home versus UCF (11/18) … credited with two key game-changing plays in the second half that helped push the Red Raiders to bowl eligibility … had a quarterback hurry on UCF’s first play of its final drive of the third quarter, which led to a C.J. Baskerville interception and an eventual Gino Garcia field goal … later leaped to block a UCF extra-point attempt that kept the Red Raiders in the lead with 5:30 remaining in the game … the Red Raider offense burned the remainder of the clock on the ensuing drive to clinch the win … marked the first blocked PAT by a Red Raider since 2019 when Zech McPhearson did so versus Kansas.
- Put together another memorable bowl performance for second-consecutive season with career highs for tackles (5), tackles for loss (2.0) and sacks (1.0) in the win over Cal (12/16) … sack came midway through the fourth quarter, forcing Cal to a 3rd-and-12 and an eventual interception.
2022 SEASON (REDSHIRT FRESHMAN)
- Appeared in two games along the defensive line as a redshirt freshman … inserted in the season opener against Murray State (9/3) as well as the TaxAct Texas Bowl win over Ole Miss (12/28) … made his first career tackle in the win over the Rebels.
- Credited as one of Texas Tech’s most improved players late in the season by head coach Joey McGuire, leading to a significantly increased role in the bowl game … credited with playing 24 snaps against Ole Miss, giving him 31 total on the season … used as the primary backup to nose tackle Jaylon Hutchings in the Texas Bowl win.
2021 SEASON (FRESHMAN)
- Redshirt season … appeared in only one game as a true freshman, which came at Kansas (10/16) … scout team member during first semester on campus.
HIGH SCHOOL
- Attended Rider High School in his hometown of Wichita Falls, Texas … one of the more dominating defensive linemen in the state of Texas … helped Rider advance to the state semifinal round of the Class 5A Division II playoffs.
- Listed as a Sports Illustrated All-America candidate as a senior … was a second team All-State honoree by the Texas Sports Writers Association (TSWA) ... garnered first team All-District 3-5A honors and was named to the All-Red River first team by the Wichita Falls Times Record News for the second time in his career ... registered 51 tackles on the year, including 16 for a loss and six sacks to go along with 55 quarterback hurries, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
- Previously helped lead Rider to the Class 5A Division I state quarterfinals as a junior … suffered a season-ending knee injury in Rider’s regional finals win over Wichita Falls to end his junior year … closed the season with 95 tackles, including a team-leading 14 sacks and 20 tackles for loss … also recorded 30 quarterback hurries, a forced fumble and three fumble recoveries on his way to earning All-District 3-5A accolades … found the quarterback 11 times for a sack over his final four games alone.

- Considered a three-star prospect by Rivals, ESPN and 247Sports … ranked as the No. 34 defensive tackle and the No. 76 player in the state of Texas by ESPN … listed as the No. 44 strong-side defensive end in the ountry and the No. 112 player in Texas by 247Sports … part of the top-100 players in Texas by Rivals at No. 98 overall … chose Texas Tech over 16 other power-five offers.
