2018 SEASON (FRESHMAN)
Redshirt season … did not play … scout team member … traveled as a backup quarterback for the regular-season finale against Baylor.
Played in eight games during true freshman season at Tyler Junior College … completed 59.8 percent of his passes overall after finishing 52-of-87 overall … threw for 624 yards and two touchdowns on the season … began seeing additional playing time late in the season … finished 14-of-19 for 187 yards at Trinity Valley and then 21-of-32 for 254 yards and a touchdown versus New Mexico Military Institute … completed over 65 percent of his passes in both of those games … also ended the year with 15 rush attempts for 14 yards and a touchdown … rushing total included a season-high 42 yard scamper against Cisco Junior College.
HIGH SCHOOL
Attended Levelland High School in nearby Levelland, Texas … recorded one of the most impressive seasons in Texas high school football history as a senior … threw for 5,617 yards and 77 touchdowns as a senior, snapping the single-season records for a quarterback from the state of Texas … helped lead Levelland to the third round of the Class 4A playoffs for the first time since 2007 and then the fourth round, marking the program’s farthest postseason run in 66 years … named the Built Ford Tough Texas High School Player of the Year for Class 4A … garnered Class 4A Offensive Player of the Year honors by the Texas Associated Press Editors … organization also named him to the All-State team as well … was a finalist for the Mr. Texas Football Award … also a member of the school’s basketball and baseball programs.
