2018 SEASON (JUNIOR)
Named the starting quarterback after preseason practices but was injured for most of the season shortly after … entered the season as the only quarterback on the roster with a start during his career … closed the year 28-of-51 passing for 318 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions … also rushed nine times for negative-3 yards … SEASON HIGHLIGHTS: completed four passes for 49 yards and rushed for 14 yards against Ole Miss (9/1) before leaving the game late in the first quarter with an ankle injury … unable to return to the field until road win at TCU (10/1) … finished 2-of-3 for 12 yards in his lone series against the Horned Frogs … made two appearances off the bench during the month of November against Texas (11/10) and at Kansas State (11/17) … completed his lone pass against the Longhorns for 10 yards … earned the start in the regular-season finale versus Baylor, completing 21-of-37 passes for 247 yards and two touchdowns … first touchdown came on a 54-yard strike to Ja’Deion High on the opening drive … later connected with Seth Collins on a seven-yard touchdown that cut the deficit to 28-24 early in the fourth quarter … AWARDS AND HONORS: Academic All-Big 12 second team honoree.
