2024 SEASON (JUNIOR)
PRIOR TO TEXAS TECH
- Did not see any game action during first season as a Red Raider … scout team member.
PRIOR TO TEXAS TECH
- Arrived at Texas Tech following three years at Saddleback Junior College in California … joined the Red Raiders with two years of eligibility remaining … was a mid-year transfer in time to begin spring football ahead of the 2024 season.
- Combined to play in seven games at the JUCO level – three as a true freshman in 2021 and four as a redshirt sophomore in 2023 … in between, redshirted the 2022 season.
- Listed as a four-star prospect by On3, ranking as high as third nationally among junior college prospects in the 2024 class … was the top offensive tackle nationally in On3’s rankings and the No. 2 junior college prospect out of California … was a three-star prospect, ranking 35th and 40th nationally among junior college signees according to ESPN and 247Sports … those two publications listed him as the No. 3 offensive tackle in the JUCO ranks (ESPN) and at No. 4 overall (247Sports).
- The massive offensive tackle also held offers from Florida, Georgia, UCLA and USC among others before committing to the Red Raiders.
- Attended Pasadena High School outside of Los Angeles … lettered in football over two seasons while at the prep level … had not played the sport of football until enrolling at Pasadena prior to his junior year.
- Entered into the starting rotation late in that season and was a full-time starter as a senior … the Bulldogs advanced to the CIF second round that junior season … his 2020 senior season was cut to only five games due to the COVID-19 pandemic … Pasadena was a perfect 5-0 that season.
- An honor roll student.
- Maurice Rodriques ... son of Maurice Rodriques and Aysia Lynch ... has a younger brother, Denecio.
- Grew up in his native country of Jamaica before moving to the United States in 2019 to live with his mother, who desired him to attend college … his mother is a special education teacher in California.
