PERSONAL
- Has switched to the inside linebacker room ahead of his sophomore season as a Red Raider … position was where the coaching staff projects him long-term after recruiting additional depth to the running back room.
2025 SEASON (REDSHIRT FRESHMAN)
- Appeared in eight games as a redshirt freshman as a reserve running back … gained a larger role during preseason camp as injuries forced him to back up both J’Koby Williams and Cameron Dickey at running back.
- Closed the season with 45 carries for 240 yards, the bulk of which came in the first two games of the season … combined to lead the team early in the year with 205 rushing yards over the first two weekends in wins over Arkansas-Pine Bluff (8/30) and Kent State (9/6) … received carries in six different games overall.
- Made his collegiate debut by rushing seven times for 78 yards in the season opener versus Pine Bluff … followed with 16 carries for 127 yards the next week versus Kent State, marking his first career 100-yard outing … marked the first 100-yard rushing performance by a Red Raider on the season and the only the sixth by a Texas Tech freshman since 2000 … joined Taurean Henderson (2002 vs. North Carolina State), Justin Stockton (2014 at UTEP), Ta’Zhawn Henry (2018 vs. Houston), SaRodorick Thompson (2019 at Baylor) and teammate J’Koby Williams (2024 vs. Arkansas) as freshmen who rushed for 100 yards in a game during that time frame.
- Saw action late in wins during Big 12 play, carrying five times for five yards in the shutout win over Oklahoma State (10/25), six times for 14 yards versus UCF (11/15) and 10 times for 14 yards at West Virginia (11/29) … lone catch of the season went for one yards in the non-conference finale against Oregon State (9/13).
- Credited with 111 offensive snaps by Pro Football Focus, which awarded him a 71.1 overall grade … grade was helped by a 74.1 grade as a rusher.
2024 SEASON (FRESHMAN)
- Redshirt season … did not see any game action as a true freshman … scout team member.
- Attended Albany High School located approximately 35 miles northeast of Abilene, Texas … played for one of the top Class 2A programs in Texas after helping lead Albany to back-to-back state championships … two-way player throughout his high school career as both Albany’s running back and top linebacker.
- Earned Offensive MVP honors in the state title game as a senior after carrying 24 times for 132 yards and a pair of touchdowns … added two tackles, including a sack, on the other side of the ball.
- Finished with 2,641 rushing yards and 51 touchdowns his senior year alone, while adding a team-leading 16.5 sacks and more than 90 tackles defensively … previously totaled 102 rushing yards and a touchdown in Albany’s 2022 state championship victory, while also catching three passes for 71 yards … notched four tackles as well, including a shared stop behind the line of scrimmage, to push Albany to its first state title since 1961.
- Named the District 6-2A MVP following his junior season … was also a first team All-State honoree by the Texas Sports Writers Association (TSWA) as a defensive lineman …
- Member of the school’s basketball and track and field programs … was the Class 2A state champion in the 300-meter hurdles both his senior and junior seasons ... set a personal record in the 300-meter hurdles state title race clocking a 38.05 … won the race in 38.75 seconds his junior season ... took silver as a senior in the state meet in the shot put with a 53’-0.25” toss … also qualified for the state meet in the 110-meter hurdles his junior and sophomore seasons, finishing as the state runner-up both times ... logged a 14.36-second personal record as a junior.
- Ranked as a three-star prospect by 247Sports … CHOSE TEXAS TECH OVER: Louisiana Tech.

- Comes from a football family as his father played collegiately and also coached ... Kevin was inducted into the Howard Payne Hall of Fame in 2008 after a four-year career where he was a two-time all-conference wide receiver (1991-92).
