- Split time as one of Texas Tech’s starting cornerbacks during first season as a Red Raiders … appeared in 13 of 14 games overall with six starts, missing only the non-conference finale with Oregon State (9/13) … shared the starting job with Dontae Balfour, who made seven starts of his own opposite of Texas Tech’s other corner in Brice Pollock.
- Recorded 27 tackles on the season (22 solo), including 2.0 for a loss … broke up seven passes in the secondary, which ranked second on the team behind only Pollock … picked off a pair of passes to contribute to Texas Tech’s FBS-leading 32 takeaways on the season … one of four Red Raiders with multiple interceptions on the year, joining Pollock (5) and linebackers Jacob Rodriguez (4) and Ben Roberts (4).
- Recorded at least one tackle in all 13 games and finished with multiple stops in six of those contests … all seven of his pass breakups, meanwhile, came either during Big 12 play or in the Capital One Orange Bowl versus Oregon …
- Credited with 528 defensive snaps by Pro Football Focus, which ranked second in the cornerback room behind only Pollock (797) … publication gave him a 73.4 overall grade that was boosted by a 79.1 grade in rush defense, a 74.3 grade as a tackler and a 71.8 grade in coverage … targeted 50 times in the passing game by opponents, per PFF, with only 25 of those leading to a completion, including only one for a touchdown.
- Began his career with three tackles and an interception in the season-opening win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff (8/30) … interception came late in the first quarter, giving the Red Raiders the ball just outside the red zone after a seven-yard return … the Red Raiders scored roughly two minutes later to take an early 23-0 lead.
- Other interception on the season came in the regular-season finale at West Virginia (11/29) … picked off quarterback Max Brown inside the Texas Tech red zone midway through the third quarter, returning it 67 yards to the Mountaineers’ 18-yard line … marked the longest interception return of the season by a Red Raider … the Red Raiders scored three players later on a Micah Hudson touchdown catch from Lloyd Jones III for a 42-0 lead.
- Set a career high with seven tackles in the Capital One Orange Bowl versus Oregon (1/1), including one that went for a loss … other tackle for loss came as part of two tackles in the win at Kansas State (11/1) … tackle for loss against the Wildcats led to an eventual 3-and-out and punt, giving the Red Raiders the ball back to drive 74 yards for a touchdown and 29-14 lead late in the third quarter.
- Added a pass breakup versus the Wildcats before following with two the next week in the regular-season win over BYU (11/8) … ended the season with a pass breakup in four of the final six games after getting his hand on another pass attempt in the Edward Jones Big 12 Championship versus BYU (12/6) as well as against Oregon.
- AWARDS AND HONORS: recognized for pro potential prior to the season as a member of the Shrine Bowl 1,000 list.
PRIOR TO TEXAS TECH
- Spent first three seasons of collegiate career at UTEP ... arrived at Texas Tech with two seasons of eligibility remaining after playing 24 games as a Miner, including 20 during his last two years alone.
- Earned five career starts during that time with four of the five starts coming as a sophomore in 2024 … recorded 35 career tackles at UTEP plus two interceptions, six pass breakups and one forced fumble over three-year stint as a Miner … credited with 845 defensive snaps by Pro Football Focus over his tenure with the Miners to go along with an additional 139 snaps on special teams.
- Joined the Red Raiders prior to the spring of 2025 ... will have two seasons of eligibility at Texas Tech.
- 2024 SEASON (JUNIOR at UTEP): played in nine games and made four starts during his best season with the Miners ... did not play in the season opener versus Nebraska (8/31) and was limited over the next three games … missed the final two games of the season, ultimately finishing with 16 tackles, 1.0 tackle for loss, two interceptions, three pass breakups, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
- Targeted 27 times according to Pro Football Focus, allowing only 10 catches for 175 yards … opponents completed only 37.0 percent of passes against him on the season, which ranked tied for fifth nationally among cornerbacks with at least 200 coverage snaps … publication credited him with 360 defensive snaps on the season and a 72.6 overall grade in coverage.
- Recorded two tackles over his first three games of the season against Southern Utah (9/7), at Liberty (9/14) and at Colorado State (9/21) despite playing in less than 10 defensive snaps in all three contests … started four of the next five games against Sam Houston (10/3), FIU (10/16), at LA Tech (10/22), and Middle Tennessee (11/2).
- Intercepted first career pass in the fourth quarter versus FIU, aiding the Miners to a 30-21 win ... forced a fumble and recovered the fumble on the opening kickoff to start the third quarter against Middle Tennessee a few weeks later, setting up a 29-yard made field goal ... part of a season-high five tackles against the Blue Raiders ... picked off second interception of the season versus Kennesaw State (11/9) and first tackle for loss of the season.
- 2023 SEASON (SOPHOMORE at UTEP): played in 11 games while making one start as a sophomore … lone start came against UNLV (9/23) to close non-conference play … tallied 11 tackles (10 solo), 1.0 tackle for loss and three breakups overall on 317 defensive snaps … best performance came early in the season with three tackles in a win over Incarnate Word (9/2) … later recorded first career tackle for loss at Middle Tennessee (11/18) to go with a pass breakup.
- 2022 SEASON (FRESHMAN at UTEP): saw action in last four games of his first season as a Miner ... started at cornerback in the final three contests at Rice (11/3), versus FIU (11/19) and at UTSA (11/26) … tallied eight tackles overall, which came over the two road games at Rice and UTSA with four stops in both contests … credited with 168 defensive snaps by Pro Football Focus over the final third of the season.
HIGH SCHOOL
- Attended Mountain Pointe High School in Phoenix, Ariz. … two-way star as both a quarterback and wide receiver as well as a defensive back … enrolled at Mountain Pointe as a junior after previously attending South Mountain High School.
- Focused primarily at wide receiver his senior season after starting at quarterback as a junior … was still the backup quarterback for the Pride … caught 25 passes as a senior for 378 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 230 yards and three touchdowns on only 30 attempts (7.7 yards per carry) … inserted at quarterback in 10 games, throwing for 320 yards and three touchdowns on 21-of-36 passing.
