PERSONAL
- Appeared in all 13 games primarily in coverage on passing downs as well as on special teams … joined the linebacker rotation during second full season on campus. … found a niche on 3rd-and-long packages due to his speed at linebacker.
- Totaled 29 tackles (15 solo) on the season to go along with a forced fumble and two quarterback hurries … recorded 1.5 tackles for loss, which included a shared sack, the first of his career … one of four linebackers on the season with at least 25 tackles overall … notched at least one tackle in 10 of 13 games overall and had multiple stops in seven different contests.
- Credited with 167 defensive snaps by Pro Football Focus, which included 101 snap in coverage … played in 10 or more defensive snaps in all but one Big 12 game with the lone exception being nine snaps at Oklahoma State … saw action in 97 snaps on special teams as a member of the kickoff coverage unit and occasionally on punt returns early in the season.
- Publication awarded him a high grade of 88.9 overall as a pass rusher after creating 15 pressures (1 sack, nine quarterback hits and five hurries) … ranked tied for fifth on the team for total pressures created, according to PFF.
- Recorded four tackles in the non-conference finale against North Texas (9/14), his second-highest total on the season … performance included a career high 1.5 tackles for loss and a shared sack … marked the first sack of his career, which came on the final play of the game … stuffed a North Texas rush for a two-yard loss on the play prior to the sack … strong outing followed one tackle in the season opener versus Abilene Christian (8/31) and two stops at Washington State (9/7).
- Opened Big 12 play with three tackles to go along with a quarterback hurry in the win over Arizona State (9/21) … hurried Arizona State quarterback Sam Leavitt on a 3rd-and-10 pass deep down the right side to force the Sun Devils to punt on their first possession of the fourth quarter … the Red Raiders responded with a Gino Garcia field goal to push their lead to 30-16 with 6:54 to play.
- Recorded three tackles against Baylor (10/19), all while receiving his highest PFF defensive grade of the season … awarded a 78.1 grade by PFF for his 13 defensive snaps, which topped his previous high of 77.8 set only two weeks earlier at Arizona (10/5) where he had one tackle.
- Made three tackles against Colorado (11/9) to go along with a quarterback hurry … made Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders rush a pass attempt on 3rd-and-4 to force a Colorado field goal just before halftime … performance followed a two tackle outing at Iowa State (11/2) just a week before.
- Put together the most-productive game to that point in his career with nine tackles in the regular-season finale against West Virginia (11/3) … played a season-high 25 defensive snaps in the rout.
- Made one tackle via kickoff coverage in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl against Arkansas (12/27) … forced the Razorbacks to start their first drive of the second half at their own 6 yard line after forcing a fumble on the tackle, which was recovered by Arkansas.
2023 SEASON (FRESHMAN)
- Redshirt season … appeared in four games as a true freshman with one start at linebacker … praised for his athleticism by coaching staff, which allowed him to break the linebacker lineup in his first season … suffered an injury that kept him out of the rest of the regular season as well as the Independence Bowl versus Cal.
- Finished with 12 tackles, including 1.5 for a loss, over his four games … had at least two stops in all four games with four tackles against Houston (9/30), three versus both Tarleton State (9/16) and Baylor (10/7) and two at West Virginia (9/23).
- Made stops behind the line of scrimmage in each of the first two Big 12 contests with the Mountaineers and Cougars … the Houston game also represented his first collegiate start.
AS A TEXAS TECH TRACK AND FIELD ATHLETE
- Competed in the hurdles in two races unattached during the 2023 indoor season before joining the roster for the Big 12 Championships … competed in the 60-meter hurdles, running a prelim time of 7.97 before going 7.85 in the finals to finish fourth in the conference … performance came despite arriving at Texas Tech only a few months earlier as a mid-year high school enrollee.
- Competed in two meets during the outdoor season with a wind-aided time of 14.21 in the 110-meter hurdles at the Corky Crofoot Shootout … part of Texas Tech’s roster for its team title at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships.
HIGH SCHOOL
- Attended Byrnes High School in his hometown of Charleston, S.C. … signed with Texas Tech as one of the fastest and athletic linebackers in the country … two-year letterwinner after an injury kept him off the varsity until his junior season.
- Took little time to show his talents with 88 total tackles, including 10 for a loss and two sacks as a junior … successful season came despite shifting from outside linebacker to the inside midway through the year … helped push Byrnes to the third round of the Class 5A playoffs his senior season to earn All-District honors for his efforts.
- A standout for the track and field program as the state champion in the 110-meter hurdles … posted the fastest 110 meter time in the state of South Carolina as a junior in 2022 at 13.56, which also ranked as the fifth-fastest in the country that year … also timed as low as 10.92 in the 100 meters and 22.05 in the 200 meters, while jumping 23’01” in the long jump.
- Efforts in both track and football earned him Male Athlete of the Year honors among 2,000 athletes at the Upstate Sports Awards, which was presented in combination by the Greenville News, Anderson Independent-Mail and Spartanburg-Herald Journal.
- Three-star prospect by the likes of 247Sports, ESPN and ON3.com … ranked as the No. 59 linebacker in the country and the No. 9 recruit for the state of South Carolina by 247Sports … tabbed the No. 12 recruit in the Palmetto State by ON3 and No. 31 by ESPN … CHOSE TEXAS TECH OVER: Charlotte and N.C. State.

- Miquel Bryce Dingle … born in Charleston, South Carolina, to parents Miquel Dingle Sr. and Amanda Dingle … has a sister, Amani.
- Father totaled over 2,100 yards from scrimmage and 21 touchdowns in his college career at the University of South Carolina before being drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 8th round of the 1991 NFL Draft.
