2025 SEASON (JUNIOR)
- One of the top stories from Texas Tech’s memorable 2025 campaign after winning the place kicker job midway through the season … was already projected to be the Red Raiders’ primary kickoff specialist but also excelled in giving Texas Tech a consistent place kicker … ultimately appeared in all 14 games, easily the most game action thus far in his career.
- Shared the place-kicking duty for the first half of the season before earning the role for the final five games … finished 22-of-28 overall on field goals and 41-of-42 on PATs for 107 total points … made at least one field goal in nine of the Red Raiders’ 14 contests and found the uprights multiple times in six of those contests … actually had four different games against Big 12 opponents with three or more successful field goals, all in wins.
- Did not miss a field goal from inside 40 yards and missed only two attempts from inside 46 yards (44, 45) … was a perfect 10-of-10 from inside 29 yards, 3-of-3 from 30-to-39 yards, 6-of-10 from 40-to-49 yards and 3-of-5 from 50-plus yards … combined to make 16-of-19 field goal attempts against Big 12 opponents, which includes the Edward Jones Big 12 Championship.
- As a kickoff specialist, booted 76 of his 103 attempts for touchbacks (73.8 percent) due to strong leg … ranked among the nation’s leaders in total touchbacks … averaged 64.3 yards per kickoff, totaling 6,625 yards on the season … reliable with only one of his 103 kickoffs going out of bounds.
- AWARDS AND HONORS: an All-Big 12 first team by the conference coaches and the Associated Press … became the fourth Red Raider place kicker named to the first team by the conference coaches, joining the likes of Jonathan Garibay (2021), Clayton Hatfield (2018) and Alex Trlica (2007) … went from not being on a preseason watch list to being named a semifinalist for the prestigious Lou Groza Award … tabbed the award’s Star of the Week late in the season (Nov. 11) for his performance in the regular-season win over BYU … named the Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week following that same, marking the third time to win the weekly award on the season … also recognized on Oct. 6 and Nov. 3 for his performances at Houston and Kansas State … nominee for the Burlsworth Trophy, which recognizes the nation’s top walk-on.
- IN THE TEXAS TECH RECORD BOOK: successful season placed him among the school’s all-time greats for field goals … finished second in Texas Tech single-season history with 22 field goals, needing only one more to match Ryan Bustin’s school record from 2013 … only the third Red Raider in program history to connect on 20 or more field goals in a season, joining Bustin (2013) and Trey Wolff (2019, 2022) … his 107 total points fell one shy of entering the top 10 among Texas Tech’s scoring leaders … was 14 points shy of matching Bustin’s scoring record among kickers … ability to connect from long distance earned him the distinction of being the first Red Raider in school history to find the uprights from 55 yards or longer multiple times in not only a season but also a career … nailed a career-high 58 yard field at Utah, which marked the second-longest made attempt in school history … his 55-yarder at Kansas State marked the fourth-longest in program history … set the Texas Tech single-game record by connecting on five field goals in the regular-season win over BYU (11/8) … previously combined with Upton Bellenfant to make five field goals to set to set a new single-game team record at Houston (10/4).
- IN NCAA RANKINGS: closed the season tied for 10th in the country for most field goals made (22) and tied for ninth for total attempts (28) … was also 18th with 107 points scored, 29th for field goals per game (1.57) and 40th for scoring per game (7.6) … connected on one of the longest field goals of the season as his 58-yarder at Utah ranked tied for third in the FBS … the Red Raiders, as a team, combined for 28 made field goals on 34 attempts, which ranked second nationally behind only Ole Miss (31-of-35) … as a kickoff specialist, recorded the third-highest touchback total (76) in the country, trailing only the 93 from Lucas Carneiro of Southern Miss and the 82 from Carter Davis of Miami (Fla.) … his 103 kickoffs, meanwhile, was the second-highest total in the FBS behind only Carneiro’s 105.
- IN BIG 12 RANKINGS: finished second in the league for made field goals (22) and fourth in attempts (28) … trailed only BYU’s Will Ferrin for makes as he was 23-of-30 overall … was seventh in the league with a 78.6 overall field goal percentage … one of only two conference kickers with multiple successful attempts from 55 yards or longer, joining Iowa State’s Kyle Konrardy … among the league’s top kickoff specialists, easily leading the conference with 76 touchbacks, which was 13 more than Utah’s Dillon Curtis in second … was the conference leader for total kickoffs (103) and kickoff yardage (6,625) and ranked second for kickoff average (64.3).
- SEASON HIGHLIGHTS:
- Connected on his first four field goal attempts of the year, beginning with a 31-yard in the season opener against Arkansas-Pine Bluff (8/30) … followed with a 47-yard field goal the next week in the win over Kent State (9/6) … did not attempt a field goal in the non-conference finale versus Oregon State (9/13) but booted seven of his eight kickoffs for touchbacks.
- Possibly most-memorable kick of the season came in the Big 12 opener at Utah (9/20) … silenced the home crowd as well as the FOX crew in the booth with a successful 58-yard kick with plenty of distance just before halftime, prompting play-by-play voice Gus Johnson to say “take that Joel Klatt” in one of the weekend’s top television moments … marked the second-longest field goal in program history, trailing only the 62-yarder from Jonathan Garibay versus Iowa State in 2021 and ended the season tied for the third-longest successful attempt in college football … field goal gave the Red Raiders a 10-0 lead at the time … later found the uprights again from 25-yards out early in the fourth quarter for a 13-3 lead.
- Combined with Upton Bellenfant to snap the Texas Tech single-game record with five successful field goals two weeks later in the win at Houston (10/4) … was 3-for-5 individually with makes from 26, 23 and 26 yards out all in the first half … two misses came from 44 and 53-yards out and snapped a streak of seven-consecutive makes to start the season.
- Limited to only one successful field goal the next three weeks, which was a successful 40-yard attempt early in the second quarter against Kansas (10/11) … did not have a field goal attempt the next week at Arizona State (10/18) and missed his only try from 45 yards the next week in the shutout win over Oklahoma State (10/25).
- Proceeded to find the uprights on his next 11 field goals, beginning with a 3-of-3 performance at Kansas State (11/1) … ended the first half with a successful 55-yard attempt to give the Red Raiders a 12-7 lead at the break to go along with two other successful kicks from 29-yards out each … became the first Red Raider to connect on multiple field goal attempts from 55 yards or longer in not only a season but a career.
- Set the Texas Tech individual record by making all five of his field goals in the regular-season win over BYU (11/8) … gave the Red Raiders an early 3-0 lead on a 47-yard attempt before adding field goals from 27, 39, 29 and 34 yards in the victory … snapped the Texas Tech single-game record of four field goals that had been set 13 times previously, most recently by Jonathan Garibay versus Baylor in 2020 … tabbed the Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week for the third time on the season for the performance after already receiving the honor following wins at Houston and Kansas State.
- Connected on nine of his 22 field goals on the season came against BYU after making 4-of-6 attempts in the Edward Jones Big 12 Championship versus the Cougars (12/6) … made a 23-yard kick early in the second quarter for Texas Tech’s first points but proceeded to miss from 48 yards later in the quarter … bounced back to connect on a 40-yard attempt with only 21 seconds remaining until halftime, pushing the lead to 13-7 at the time … was 2-of-3 in the second half with successful tries from 44 and 28 yards in the fourth quarter with the lone miss being from 49-yards out.
- Closed the regular season by making both attempts versus UCF (11/15), connecting from 45-yards out as time expired before halftime and then 53 yards early in the third quarter … did not have a field goal attempt in the regular-season finale at West Virginia (11/29) and missed on his only attempt of the Capital One Orange Bowl versus Oregon (1/1), sending a try from 54 yards wide right early in the second quarter.

2024 SEASON (SOPHOMORE)
- Saw an increased role as a sophomore, appearing in six games overall … continued to serve as Texas Tech’s backup kickoff specialist for a second-consecutive season … called on for kickoff duty 13 times on the year with eight of those resulting in a touchback.
- Most significant action came at Oklahoma State (11/23) as the primary kickoff specialist in place of an injured Reese Burkhardt … booted nine kickoffs in the win with five of those being touchbacks … recorded his first successful PAT a week later in the win over West Virginia (11/30).
