PERSONAL
- Tabbed one of Texas Tech’s top players from a player-development standpoint at the end of the season … won the backup position at left tackle out of preseason camp and stayed in that spot all season … switched to an eligible number on occasion during the season to give the Red Raiders an extra blocking tight end.
- Appeared in eight games overall, making his collegiate debut in the season-opening win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff (8/30) … credited with 124 offensive snaps by Pro Football Focus, which awarded him a 75.0 or higher pass-blocking grade in four games … listed with only one pressure allowed on the season over 39 pass-blocking opportunities.
- Took bulk of snaps at left tackle (103) with nine snaps at right tackle and 10 as a tight end … played in 10 or more offensive snaps in six different games, including a season-high 26 in the victory over Kent State (9/6) … had 20-plus offensive snaps in three other games with 22 versus both Oklahoma State (10/25) and UCF (11/15) as well as 25 at West Virginia (11/29).

- Attended Irving High School in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex … two-way player for Irving, starring on both the offensive and defensive lines … will concentrate on the offensive side of the ball with the Red Raiders.
- Earned first team All-District 7-6A honors as an offensive lineman as a senior … was a second-team selection on the defensive line that same year.
- Two-sport athlete as a member of the Irving track and field program … recorded throws of 52’-11.25” in the shot put and 123’-6” in the discus … qualified for both the area and regional rounds during prep career.
- Chose to attend Texas Tech over interest from both North Texas and Texas State.
