2020 SEAS0N (REDSHIRT FRESHMAN)
- Emotional leader for the Red Raiders as one of five team captains named prior to spring practices by head coach Joey McGuire … marked second-consecutive season to be in a leadership role with the Red Raiders … continued to wear the No. 3 jersey, which is designated for the Red Raider on both sides of the ball who best represents the attributes of “The Brand.”
- Limited to only seven games after missing the final six contests due to a complication from his previous 2022 injury … was in the midst of one of his best seasons to that point as part of the linebacker rotation and on special teams … started on three special teams assignments in kickoff coverage, punt coverage and the field goal block unit.
- Totaled 17 tackles on the season (12 solo) to go along with an interception and a quarterback hurry … tackle count also included one stop behind the line of scrimmage … was four tackles shy of his career high for a season at the time of his injury … recorded at least one tackle in all seven games played and had multiple stops in four of those contests.
- Credited with 110 defensive snaps by Pro Football Focus and an additional 105 snaps on special teams … publication credited him with three pressures overall, a hurry at Washington State and a quarterback hit and another hurry at Arizona.
- Set a season high with five tackles in the non-conference finale against North Texas (9/14), which included his first career interception … shared the team high for tackles in the rout alongside fellow inside linebacker John Curry … interception came on a dropped pass by the Mean Green, which fell into his diving arms with 9:43 remaining until halftime … marked the second of three interceptions for the Red Raiders in the second quarter, which was followed by a Behren Morton 10-yard touchdown run two plays later for a 38-7 lead … received a 91.4 overall grade by Pro Football Focus in the win, his highest of the season.
- Combined for nine stops over the course of Texas Tech’s three-game winning streak to start Big 12 play … started that stretch with three tackles versus Arizona State (9/21), two against Cincinnati (9/28) and four at Arizona (10/5) … added a quarterback hurry at Arizona, which came on third down to end the Wildcats’ opening drive with a punt …
- Closed the season with one tackle in the Homecoming game against Baylor (10/19) … previously had single tackle performances to start the season against Abilene Christian (8/31) and at Washington State (9/7) during non-conference play.
- NCAA WAIVER: granted an NCAA waiver prior to the AutoZone Liberty Bowl to extend his eligibility through the 2025 season … medical waiver was for his 2022 junior season that was cut short due to injury … the 2025 football season will mark his seventh as a Red Raider.
- AWARDS AND HONORS: recognized for his work in the classroom as part of the Academic All-Big 12 first team … marked the fourth time in his career to be honored for his academic efforts.
2023 SEASON (SENIOR)
- Completed his inspirational comeback to the field by appearing in 11 games with two starts … awarded the No. 3 jersey prior to the season for being the Red Raider who best represented the attributes of “The Brand” … member of the team captains circle and a key voice in the locker room … missed two games during Big 12 play due to injury.
- Flexible position wise, rotating between the inside linebacker and outside linebacker rooms during the season … totaled 21 tackles to go along with one quarterback hurry on the season … had at least one tackle in 10 of 11 games with multiple stops in five contests overall.
- Credited with 285 defensive snaps by Pro Football Focus as well as an additional 32 on special teams … saw time on kickoff coverage, punt return and the field goal block unit on special teams … publication awarded him five total pressures on defense with one quarterback hit and four hurries.
- Returned to the field for the first play of the season opener as part of kickoff coverage, which was captured by a national audience on CBS … made one tackle against the Cowboys, which came late in the second quarter.
- Made one tackle as well against Tarleton State (9/16) and at both West Virginia (9/23) and Baylor (10/7) during front half of the season … credited with two stops during that stretch against Oregon (9/9) and Houston (9/30).
- Set a new career high with seven tackles to go with a quarterback hurry at BYU (10/21) … returned from injury against the Cougars, one of two missed games on the year with the other being UCF (11/18) … his quarterback hurry midway through the first quarter set up an eventual BYU punt.
- Followed with two tackles in the win over TCU (11/2) and three at Kansas (11/1) … closed the regular season with one tackle at Texas (11/24) … part of a Red Raider defense that pushed Texas Tech to its third-straight bowl victory with its win over Cal (12/16) in the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl.
- AWARDS AND HONORS: named to the watch list for the Comeback Player of the Year award through the College Sports Communications (CSC) prior to the season … the information technology major was honored after the season as an Academic All-Big 12 second team honoree.
- Limited to only two games as a junior due to an early season-ending injury … totaled four tackles overall with three coming in an overtime win at Houston (9/10) and one other at N.C. State (9/17) … injury came at an unfortunate time as he had just been praised for his ability to effectively give the Red Raiders another pass rush option besides Tyree Wilson.
- Suffered a catastrophic injury in the first half of the N.C. State game that forced him to remain in Raleigh for several days to recover from leg surgery … despite suffering such a significant injury, was back on the sideline and walking later in the season … praised by teammates and coaches alike for his positive outlook following the injury.
- AWARDS AND HONORS: named to the Academic All-Big 12 second team for a second-consecutive season.
- Appeared in seven games as a sophomore, typically on special teams … inserted into each of the final seven games of the season … totaled three tackles overall, all as part of the kickoff coverage unit … ranked tied for fourth on the team for special teams tackles.
- Made a career-high two stops against Kansas State (10/23) and recorded his only other tackle in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl versus Mississippi State (12/28).
- One of four Red Raiders surprised with a scholarship prior to the season by then head coach Matt Wells.
- AWARDS AND HONORS: recognized for work in the classroom as part of the Academic All-Big 12 second team.

- Did not see game action as a redshirt freshman … listed as a backup at the Sam linebacker position entering the season … was a member of the dress roster for the majority of the season … scout team member.
- Redshirt season ... earned a spot on the roster via walk-on try-outs ... did not see any game action.
- Attended George Ranch High School in Richmond, Texas ... a standout from the outside linebacker and strong safety hybrid positions for the Longhorns ... was an Academic All-District honoree his senior season ... originally signed to play at Southwestern University prior to enrolling at Texas Tech.
