- Loic Tshibangu ... born in Bruges, Belgium and calls Brussels his hometown ... son of Didier Tshibangu and Charlotte Mwamba Musau ... has two older brothers, the eldest Zacharie, and Leon.
- Grew up playing football in Belgium and moved to the United States full-time in 2023 to attend Collin College before enrolling at Texas Tech in the spring of 2024 ... attended a summer camp where he was clocked at 4.48 in the 40-yard dash, sparking a relationship with the Texas Tech coaches.
- His ties to Texas Tech come via two of his uncles who were Red Raider football student-athletes under Mike Leach in Loliki Bongo-Wanga (2001-02) and Patrice Majondo-Mwamba (2002-04) ... a third uncle, Gerard Warren, played defensive tackle at Florida under Steve Spurrier and was selected by the Cleveland Browns third overall in the 2001 NFL draft.
