- Appeared in 12 of 13 games as a redshirt freshman with three starts at outside linebacker … entered the season as the starter on the edge, making starts in three of the first four games against Abilene Christian, Washington State and Arizona State … missed only the Big 12 road opener at Arizona due to injury.
- Finished with 10 tackles (5 solo), which all came during Big 12 play or in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl … shared two tackles for loss (1.0), including one that was a sack … added two quarterback hurries … had a tackle in five different games and combined for nine of his 10 stops during Big 12 play.
- Credited with 345 defensive snaps by Pro Football Focus, which ranked 13th on the team and was fourth among outside linebackers … publication awarded him 16 total pressures, which was tied for third on the team with De’Braylon Carroll and led the outside linebacker room … pressures were a result of three quarterback hits and 13 hurries per PFF.
- Matched his career high for tackles in the Big 12 opener versus Arizona State (9/21), finishing with four stops, including one that was a shared sack … previously had four tackles in his Red Raider debut against Cal in the 2023 Independence Bowl … shared a sack with A.J. McCarty on Arizona State’s opening drive, which was followed by a C.J. Baskerville interception on the next play.
- Notched one tackle at TCU (10/26) and against Arkansas (12/27) in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl … previously closed the regular season with two tackles in wins at Oklahoma State (11/23) and against West Virginia (11/30) … added a quarterback hurry in the win over the Mountaineers.
2023 SEASON (FRESHMAN)
- Redshirt season … appeared in two games overall against Houston (9/30) and then Cal (12/16) in the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl.
- Emerged as a potential standout on the defensive line with his performance against Cal … finished with four tackles - all for a loss - including 2.0 sacks while also forcing a fumble in the win over Cal … became the first Red Raider to record 4.0 or more tackles for a loss in a game since Jordyn Brooks had the same total against Oklahoma State in 2019.
- Recorded his first career tackle for loss on Cal’s second drive, resulting in a five-yard loss in the red zone to eventually help stop the Golden Bears’ drive on downs … notched the first forced fumble of his career on a strip-sack in the second quarter, which was recovered by the offense.
- Came up with back-to-back key plays on Cal’s final drive of the half, starting the possession with a six-yard tackle for loss on the opening play before sacking Fernando Mendoza for a seven-yard loss immediately after … Cal went 3-and-out on the drive, punting to Texas Tech, which connected on a late field goal to take a 24-14 lead into the half.
- Recorded his other sack on Cal’s final play of the fourth quarter, leading to another punt … regarded as one of the top bowl performances of the college football season.
HIGH SCHOOL
- Attended Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School in Orange, Texas … three-year varsity letterwinner for the Battlin’ Bears, helping push the school to two playoff appearances during prep career.
- Advanced all the way to the Class 4A Division I regional finals his junior year … marked the furthest the Bears had advanced in the playoffs since 1997 … among the most disruptive defensive linemen in the state that season, garnering first team All-District 10-4A honors in the process.
- Totaled 87 tackles as a junior, including 18.0 tackles for loss and nine sacks to go along with an additional 11 quarterback pressures … named a finalist for the Willie Ray Smith Award, honoring the best defensive player in Southeast Texas … recognized that season as the Defensive MVP for the All-Orange Leader area teams.
- Wrapped senior season at 6-5 overall, helping push LCM to consecutive winning seasons for the first time since 1994-95 … recognized as the District 10-4A Co-Defensive MVP as a senior.
- Previously tabbed the District 10-4A Defensive Newcomer of the Year as only a sophomore … selected to the final ballot for the Whataburger Super Team compiled by Dave Campbell’s Texas Football as a senior.
