2025 SEASON (SENIOR)
- Started at quarterback in 12 of 14 games as a senior, missing two Big 12 contests at Arizona State (10/18) and versus Oklahoma State (10/25) due to injury โฆ the Red Raiders were an impressive 11-1 on the season in games he started, pushing the Red Raiders to their first Big 12 Conference title in program history โฆ became the first Texas Tech quarterback to lead the Red Raiders to an outright conference crown since Buddy Hill in 1955.ย
- Threw for 2,780 yards and 22 touchdowns after completing 219-of-332 passes on the season โฆ his 66.0 completion percentage led the Big 12 and marked the highest single-season mark of his career โฆ protected the football with only six interceptions, the fewest in his career โฆ marked his second-highest passing yardage and touchdown totals of his career, trailing only his 2024 junior season.

- Arkansas-Pine Bluff (8/30): departed the game in the first half of each of Texas Techโs first two games of the season in blowout wins over Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Kent State โฆ completed 16-of-20 for 201 yards and a season-high four touchdown passes in the 67-7 rout โฆ had two touchdown passes in gameโs first five minutes with a 9-yard strike to Reggie Virgil and a 21-yard connection to Terrance Carter Jr. โฆ later found Carter again on a 9-yard touchdown pass late in the first quarter โฆ capped season opener with a 41-yard scoring strike with Coy Eakin to start the second quarter, ending his day with his four career four-touchdown performance.ย
- Kent State (9/6): accurate again a week later in a rout over the Golden Flashes, completing 18-of-26 passes for 258 yards and three touchdowns โฆ recorded explosive touchdown passes of 35 yards to Reggie Virgil on Texas Techโs opening drive and then a 42-yard strike to Coy Eakin later in the first quarter โฆ connected with Virgil again on a 3-yard fade just before halftime to give the Red Raiders a 48-0 lead at the break.
- Oregon State (9/13): did not depart until the fourth quarter in Texas Techโs third-consecutive blowout win to start the season โฆ completed 23-of-35 passes for a career-high 464 yards and four touchdowns in the win, marking his sixth-consecutive game with multiple touchdown passes in the win, which was tied for the FBS high at the time โฆ all four touchdown passes were of at least 20 yards to four different receivers โฆ hit Coy Eakin for a 38-yard touchdown to start the game before finding Caleb Douglas for a 61-yard scoring play later in the quarter, his third-longest completion of the year โฆ later connected with JโKoby Williams on a 30-yard scoring strike to start the second quarter and then Terrance Carter Jr. on a 23-yard touchdown pass to open the second half โฆ marked his fifth and final game of his career with four or more touchdown passes, which matched Kliff Kingsbury and Taylor Potts for a tie for the fourth-most total in school history.ย

- at Houston (10/4): the open date allowed him to return without missing any time, setting up a 300-yard performance versus the Cougars โฆ finished 28-of-40 overall with a touchdown in the win, marking the first of two 300-yard performances during Big 12 play โฆ lone touchdown pass came via a 69-yard strike late in the first quarter to Cameron Dickey, giving the Red Raiders a 15-3 lead at the time โฆ win improved him to 2-0 as a starter during his career versus Houston.
- Kansas (10/11): injury bug struck again in the second quarter, forcing him to depart early for the second time on the season โฆ was 7-of-12 for 91 yards and a touchdown at that point โฆ touchdown pass came via a 21-yard strike with Terrance Carter Jr. midway through the first quarter to take a 15-0 lead โฆ injury forced him to miss the next two games of the season at Arizona State (10/18) and versus Oklahoma State (10/25) โฆ listed as Texas Techโs โemergency quarterbackโ for both of those contests.ย
- at Kansas State (11/1): returned to lead the Red Raiders to their first win in Manhattan since the 2008 season โฆ was 21-of-32 overall for 249 yards and two second-half touchdowns in the 43-20 victory โฆ gave Texas Tech a 29-14 lead with a 1-yard touchdown pass to Caleb Douglas late in the third quarter and then found him again to put the game away with a 19-yard strike with 2:54 remaining โฆ moved to fifth all-time in career passing yards, surpassing both Taylor Potts and Robert Hall in the win.
- BYU (11/8): eclipsed 8,000 career passing yards in the battle between top-10 teams in Lubbock โฆ completed 17-of-32 passes for 219 yards and a touchdown in the win, pushing the Red Raiders to their first of two victories over the Cougars โฆ connected with Caleb Douglas on a nine-yard fade to give the Red Raiders a 10-0 lead late in the first quarter.ย
- UCF (11/15): had a quick Senior Day outing thanks to another dominant win โฆ was 14-of-19 for 149 yards and a touchdown before departing at halftime with a 38-2 lead โฆ threw perfect pass to Reggie Virgil for an 8-yard touchdown just before halftime, pushing Texas Techโs lead to 35-2 at the time.ย
- at West Virginia (11/29): closed the regular season with a dominant performance in Morgantown, completing 25-of-32 passes for 310 yards and three touchdowns โฆ threw for 250 yards and all three touchdown passes in the first half to push Texas Tech to a 28-0 lead โฆ hit Cameron Dickey late in the first quarter from 4-yards out for a 14-0 lead and then Caleb Douglas twice, finding the end zone from 19 and 4-yards out โฆ marked his ninth and final 300-yard outing of his career, which pushed him into a tie for 10th all-time in program history โฆ victory over the Mountaineers was Texas Techโs 11th of the season, matching the single-season school record for wins at the time โฆ it was also his 25th win of his career as a starter.ย
- vs. BYU in Edward Jones Big 12 Championship (12/6): led the Red Raiders to their first Big 12 title in school history and the first outright conference crown since 1955 after completing 20-of-33 passes for 215 yards and two touchdowns โฆ both touchdowns went to Coy Eakin, the first giving the Red Raiders a 10-7 lead in the second quarter off a 33-yard fade down the right side โฆ hit Eakin on a 28-yard strike to put the game away midway through the fourth quarter, giving the Red Raiders a 31-7 lead โฆ performance capped four-consecutive games without an interception, a streak that began with Texas Techโs first win over BYU โฆ moved into sole possession of fourth place on Texas Techโs career passing chart, surpassing Seth Doege (2009-12) in the win.ย
- vs. Oregon in College Football Playoff Quarterfinals at Capital One Orange Bowl (1/1): ended his Red Raider career by completing 18-of-32 passes for 137 yards โฆ matched his season high with two interceptions in the loss, which snapped a streak of 13-consecutive wins in games he started that dated back to the 2024 campaign.ย
- POSTSEASON ALL-STAR GAMES: one of two Red Raiders to participate in the East-West Shrine Bowl, taking part in the weeklong practice sessions in front of NFL personnel โฆ ultimately did not play in the all-star game โฆ joined Seth Doege (2012) and Nik Shimonek (2017) as the only Red Raider quarterbacks to be selected in the 101 years of the game.ย

2024 SEASON (JUNIOR)
- Began the season as Texas Techโs starting quarterback for the first time in his career โฆ started in 12 of 13 games, missing only the AutoZone Liberty Bowl matchup versus Arkansas to close the season โฆ became the first Red Raider quarterback to start all 12 regular-season games since Patrick Mahomes IIโs final season in 2016.ย
- AWARDS AND HONORS: preseason candidate on the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award and the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award watch lists โฆ recognized as the Davey OโBrien Great 8 Quarterback of the Week twice following wins over North Texas (Sept. 16) and then Oklahoma State (Nov. 26) โฆ tabbed the Pro Football Focus Offensive Player of the Week and the Earl Campbell Award Player of the Week following the Oklahoma State victory as well.

- SEASON HIGHLIGHTS:
- Abilene Christian (8/31): threw for at least 300 yards for the third time in his career in the season-opening win over the Wildcats โฆ completed 30-of-42 passes for 378 yards and a career-high five touchdowns โฆ marked the first time a Red Raider quarterback threw for five touchdowns in a game since Alan Bowman had the same amount in the 2020 Big 12 opener against Texas โฆ three of his five touchdown passes came on completions of 35 yards or longer, finding Coy Eakin for 35 yards in the first quarter, Jalin Conyers for 36 yards before halftime and then Josh Kelly for 35 yards midway through the third quarter โฆ converted a 3rd-and-11 in overtime, hitting Caleb Douglas on a 14-yard touchdown strike for what ended up being the game-winner.ย
- at Washington State (9/7): followed with another 300-yard outing after completing 34-of-58 passes for 323 yards and a touchdown versus the Cougars โฆ lone touchdown was a 12-yard pass to Cameron Dickey with 9:21 remaining in regulation โฆ threw two interceptions in the loss, one of only two multi-interception games on the season.ย
- North Texas (9/14): needed only 15 completions to record 273 passing yards and four touchdowns in the rout over the Mean Green โฆ combined for five touchdowns in the win with his four through the air and then his lone rushing score on the season โฆ found the end zone via his legs on a 10-yard keeper with 9:30 remaining in the second quarter that pushed Texas Techโs lead to 38-7 at the time โฆ recorded explosive passing plays of 70, 45 and 42 yards, marking his most of 40 or more yards in his career โฆ found Coy Eakin on a 70-yard touchdown strike to open the second quarter, marking the longest completion of his career โฆ was 15-of-19 overall for a 79.0 completion percentage before being benched for second half due to the large lead โฆ his four touchdown passes pushed his season total to 10 through three games, the most for a Red Raider over that stretch since Patrick Mahomes II in 2016.ย
- Arizona State (9/21): led the Red Raiders to a win in their Big 12 opener after completing 24-of-44 passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns โฆ both touchdown passes came on Texas Techโs first two drives as he found Johncarlos Miller II from 5 yards out and then Josh Kelly on a 20-yard strike.
- Cincinnati (9/28): pushed the Red Raiders to back-to-back home wins to start Big 12 play after completing 19-of-29 passes for 251 yards and two touchdowns โฆ had his best rushing performance of the season as well, carrying only three times for 46 yards, including a career-long 26 yard scamper โฆ rush attempt set up a 49-yard touchdown pass to Coy Eakin three plays later to tie the game at 17-17 in the second quarter โฆ was the second touchdown pass to Eakin in the win as the two connected on a 7-yard strike late in the first quarter.
- at Arizona (10/5): powered the Red Raiders to their first 3-0 start in Big 12 play since 2013 with an efficient performance, featuring 17-of-29 on completions for 214 yards โฆ marked his fourth-consecutive game without an interception as the Red Raiders were 4-0 during that stretch โฆ set up a Gino Garcia 41-yard field goal to take a 21-19 lead late in the fourth quarter with a 32-yard completion to Caleb Douglas โฆ previously set up another Garcia field quarter just before halftime after hitting Douglas on three-consecutive passes for 2, 57 and 19 yards on a drive that started with only 31 seconds remaining.ย
- Baylor (10/19): threw for three touchdowns as part of 33-of-49 passes for 286 yards in Homecoming contest against the Bears โฆ saw his streak of 158-consecutive pass attempts without an interception end in the loss โฆ found Caleb Douglas for two of his three touchdown passes as the two connected from 12 yards out in the first quarter and then from 7 yards late in the fourth quarter.ย
- at TCU (10/26): departed the game at halftime due to injury, finishing only 13-of-22 for 137 yards โฆ was the second time on the year to not have a passing touchdown โฆ his three interceptions through the first eight games of the season were the fewest by a Red Raider starting quarterback since Zebbie Lethridge had the same amount in 1997.ย
