HIGH SCHOOL
- Appeared in all 14 games as a sophomore as part of Texas Tech’s defensive line rotation … one of Texas Tech’s most-flexible defensive players in terms of position with the ability to play outside linebacker or an interior spot … began the season as a backup to David Bailey at outside linebacker before moving to a defensive tackle position by the end of the year.
- Totaled 6 tackles overall (4 solo) to go along with two quarterback hurries … recorded bulk of his tackles during Big 12 play with two stops against both Oklahoma State (10/25) and BYU (11/8) … had one tackle in between those two wins at Kansas State (11/1) … also had a hurry in the shutout win over the Cowboys, which came on a first down pass attempt late in the second quarter that resulted in a 3-and-out drive.
- Only other tackle on the season came in the opener versus Arkansas-Pine Bluff (8/30) … added his other quarterback hurry the next week in the win over Kent State (9/6).
- Credited with 133 defensive snaps by Pro Football Focus … received a 73.2 overall grade by the publication, which included a 77.6 grade as a tackler and a 70.5 grade as a pass rusher … marked his highest grades in all three categories of his career.
- NCAA TRANSFER PORTAL: entered the transfer portal following the season, eventually signing with Big 12 counterpart Oklahoma State.
2024 SEASON (REDSHIRT FRESHMAN)
- Praised for his development throughout the season that led him to be a significant contributor late in the year … saw action in 12 of 13 games overall with one start, which came in the non-conference finale versus North Texas … missed only the Homecoming date with Baylor midway through the season.
- Recorded 18 tackles overall (5 solo), including 3.0 that went for a loss … added three quarterback hurries and a pass breakup near the line of scrimmage … had at least one tackle in nine of his 12 games played with multiple stops in five of those contests … bulk of his tackles - 13 to be exact - came during the final month of the season as well as the AutoZone Liberty Bowl versus Arkansas.
- Credited with 306 defensive snaps on the season by Pro Football Focus as both an interior defensive lineman and outside linebacker … size allowed him to switch back and forth between position rooms throughout the season … publication credited him with 15 total pressures - two via quarterback hits and 13 by hurries - which ranked tied for fifth on the team.
- Combined for three stops during non-conference play with two at Washington State (9/7) and one against North Texas (9/14) … performance in Pullman included his first career tackle for loss, which came on Washington State’s final drive of the fourth quarter … was the first multi-tackle outing of his career as well … added his first quarterback hurry of the season against the Mean Green, which forced an incompletion and 3-and-out by North Texas on its opening drive of the second half.
- Began a strong final month of the season with three tackles in the win at Iowa State (11/2) … matched that total again a week later against Colorado (11/9), notching his second tackle for a loss on the season in the process … tackle for loss came on Colorado’s fourth offensive play of the game, setting up an eventual punt to help the Red Raiders get off to an early 10-0 lead.
- Followed with a career-high four tackles at Oklahoma State, marking his third-straight game with multiple stops … contributed to two third-down stops of Oklahoma State running back Ollie Gordon II, keeping him to a four-yard gain in the second quarter for a punt and then another four-yard reception in the third quarter to set up a missed field goal attempt … stopped a screen for his final tackle for loss on the year in the fourth quarter, dropping Brennan Presley for a one-yard loss.
- Concluded the season with one tackle in the regular-season finale against West Virginia (11/30) and then two stops in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl versus Arkansas (12/27) … had a quarterback hurry in both games as well as a pass breakup against the Razorbacks … pass breakup stopped a third-down attempt to start the fourth quarter, leading to a punt near midfield.
2023 SEASON (FRESHMAN)
- Redshirt season … appeared in one game on the season against Tarleton State (9/16), making one tackle … scout team member.
HIGH SCHOOL
- Attended Woodville High School in his hometown of Woodville, Texas … two-way starter who helped push Woodville to the area round of the Class 3A Division I playoffs each of his final two seasons … four-year varsity letterwinner.
- Tallied 61 tackles, including 15.0 for a loss and 3.0 sacks, en route to being named the District 10-3A Defensive Lineman of the Year as a junior in 2021 … led Woodville to a 7-4 record that season.
- Tabbed the District 9-3A MVP following his senior season after a 9-3 record … posted 79 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks and an interception during final prep season … also got his hands on four kicks for key blocks … previously recognized on the All-District 10-3A second team as only a sophomore.
- Consensus three-star prospect by the likes of 247Sports, Rivals, ESPN and ON3.com … tabbed the No. 53 defensive tackle in the country by ESPN for the 2023 class … CHOSE TEXAS TECH OVER: Kansas State, Louisiana-Lafayette and Washington State.
