2024 SEASON (SENIOR)
- Appeared in all 13 games with 12 starts during his first season as a Red Raider … was Texas Tech’s primary starter at right guard throughout the season with all 12 starts at that spot … lone missed start was early in the season at Washington State (9/7).
- Considered one of Texas Tech’s top offensive linemen, grading out at 70.6 overall by Pro Football Focus, which trailed only Caleb Rogers (70.8) on the team … overall grade was sixth on the team among offensive players with at least 200 snaps on the season.
- Listed as one of the top pass-blocking guards in the country with an 86.2 grade by PFF … credited with only one sack surrendered and nine pressures allowed by PFF over 483 pass blocking opportunities … ranked tied for 14th nationally for his pass blocking grade among guards (minimum 300 offensive snaps) and fourth among Big 12 players … was eighth overall among power conference guards.
- One of the nation’s top pass-protecting offensive linemen with only two sacks allowed in his three years at the FBS level over 1,482 opportunities … has allowed only 24 total pressures during that span as well for a 99.1 efficiency rating for his career, per PFF.
- Credited with 870 offensive snaps by PFF, which was eight shy of his career high that was set in 2022 at Memphis … ranked fourth on the team for total offensive snaps behind only Caleb Rogers (1,025), Sheridan Wilson (1,021) and Behren Morton (872).
- Part of a Texas Tech offense that ended the season ranked fourth in the country in scoring at 37.6 points per game … the Red Raiders were also ninth in the FBS for both passing offense (296.7 yards per game) and total offense (462.7 yards per game).
- AWARDS AND HONORS: recognized for his work in the classroom as part of the Academic All-District Team compiled by the College Sports Communicators (CSC).
- SENIOR DECISION: elected to return for a final season after receiving an extra year of eligibility via an NCAA blanket waiver for all student-athletes who previously competed at a non-NCAA school for one or more years and would have otherwise exhausted their NCAA eligibility following the 2024 season.
PRIOR TO TEXAS TECH
- Arrived at Texas Tech following two seasons at Memphis (2022-23) as well as two seasons at Northwest Mississippi Community College (2020-21) … arrived originally with one season of eligibility with the Red Raiders before being granted an NCAA blanket waiver following the 2024 campaign.
- Considered one of the top offensive guards in the FBS during the 2023 season with the Tigers … earned starting nod at right guard in 23 games during his Memphis career … surrendered only one sack in exactly 1,000 opportunities in two seasons at Memphis, according to Pro Football Focus.
- 2023 SEASON (SENIOR at MEMPHIS): started all 12 games during his final season as a Tiger … earned second team All-AAC honors by Phil Steele Magazine after helping push the Tigers to a 9-3 overall record and an appearance in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl.
- Credited with 852 snaps offensively by Pro Football Focus, finishing with an 81.5 overall grade … ranked seventh in the FBS among offensive guards and second overall in the AAC for offensive grade … was tied for 10th among FBS guards with a 86.7 overall pass blocking grade after giving up only one sack and seven hurries over 498 opportunities … did not commit a single penalty throughout the season.
- 2022 SEASON (JUNIOR at MEMPHIS): appeared in 12 of 13 games overall with 11 starts … helped push the Tigers to a 7-6 record following a victory in the SERVPRO First Responder Bowl.
- Credited with 878 offensive snaps for a Tigers offense that ranked 21st in the FBS in passing offense (279.2) and 22nd in scoring offense (35.3) … received an 85.8 pass blocking grade by PFF after giving up two quarterback hits and five hurries in 502 opportunities … did not allow a single sack on the season … his pass blocking grade ranked tied for 13th in the FBS among offensive guards.
- NORTHWEST MISSISSIPPI COMMUNITY COLLEGE (2020-21): helped lead the Rangers to back-to-back MACCC championships during his two seasons … played in one of the top junior college conferences in the country … started all 18 games of his career for a Northwest program that was a combined 15-3 over those two seasons.
- Tabbed the Offensive Line MVP for the MACCC North Division his sophomore season … was a first team All-MACCC selection that same year … helped push the Rangers to the NJCAA Division-I playoffs that season after Northwest ranked third in the league in rushing yards and seventh nationally … the Rangers also led the MACCC in passing yards and ranked sixth in the country.
HIGH SCHOOL
- Attended Pearl High School in his hometown of Pearl, Miss … member of Pearl’s 2017 Class 6A state champion team.
- Paved the way for a Pirate offense that averaged 227.1 yards per game on the ground that season ... credited with 65 pancake blocks during his senior season, finishing with 10 or more in three games.
- Selected to the Mississippi Association of Coaches 6A All-State first team as a senior … recognized on the inaugural Priority One Bank/Mississippi Scoreboard All-Metro first team as well as the MaxPreps All-State first team … a second team All-State honoree by Belk Ford All-Southern Elite Sports and the Clarion Ledger All-State.
- Later represented Mississippi in the Mississippi/Alabama Football Classic following his senior season.

- Davion Carter ... son of Bobby and Brandi Carter … has two older siblings, Destiny and Devin.
- Earned his bachelor’s degree in university studies from Texas Tech in August 2025 … will enroll in graduate classes during final season as a Red Raider.
