- Turned into a regular starter for the Red Raiders as only a sophomore … joined safety C.J. Baskerville as the only other defensive back to start in all 13 games and one of four defensive players on the team to do so … one of only seven players on both sides of the ball to start in all 13 games overall.
- Finished fourth on the team with 56 total tackles (31 solo), including 3.0 that went for a loss … trailed only linebackers Jacob Rodriguez (127) and Ben Roberts (83) as well as Baskerville (78) on the tackle leaderboard … recorded 44 of his 56 tackles during Big 12 play, which was also fourth on the team … notched multiple stops in nine different games with five or more tackles in six contests.
- Totaled five pass breakups on the season to go along with a quarterback hurry … four of his five pass breakups came during a three-game stretch to start November during Big 12 play … targeted a team-leading 76 times in the passing game with opponents completing 45 of those attempts per Pro Football Focus … his 59.2 reception percentage was third on the team among defensive players with at least 20 targets, trailing only Brenden Jordan (57.6) and Bralyn Lux (58.5).
- Credited with 806 defensive snaps by Pro Football Focus, which ranked second on the team behind only Baskerville (895) … inserted for an additional 84 snaps on special teams, mainly as part of the field goal block team … also saw time sparingly on punt returns and as part of kickoff coverage.
- Opened the season with a career-high 11 tackles in the overtime win over Abilene Christian (8/31) … performance included his first career tackle for loss, which came late in the third quarter on an attempted screen pass … combined for only one stop the next two games with only a quarterback hurry at Washington State (9/7) and a tackle and pass breakup in the victory over North Texas (9/14).
- Began Big 12 play by combining for nine tackles in wins over Arizona State (9/21) and Cincinnati (9/28) with four against the Sun Devils and five versus the Bearcats ... followed with his second double-digit tackle performance of the season at Arizona (10/5), which included one stop for a one-yard loss midway through the second quarter that resulted in a 3-and-out.
- Credited with five stops two weeks later against Baylor (10/19) before being limited to only one at TCU (10/26) … saw a season-low seven snaps versus the Horned Frogs due to an injury early in the game.
- Listed with eight tackles in Texas Tech’s ranked road victory at Iowa State (11/20) to go along with a pass breakup … kicked off three-consecutive games with a pass breakup with one versus Colorado (11/9) and two at Oklahoma State (11/23).
- Combined for nine tackles over the final three regular season games with one against Colorado, three at Oklahoma State and five versus West Virginia (11/30) … recorded final tackle for loss on the season versus the Mountaineers to start a 3-and-out drive late in the second quarter that gave the Red Raiders the ball back with time to score for a 35-3 halftime lead ... wrapped sophomore season with two tackles in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl versus Arkansas (12/27).
2023 SEASON (REDSHIRT FRESHMAN)
- Made the two-deep at cornerback as a redshirt freshman … appeared in 10 games overall either in the secondary or via special teams … missed three of the first four games of the season despite ending preseason camp listed as a backup at corner … saw action in eight of nine games during Big 12 play as well as the Radiant Technologies Independence Bowl versus Cal (12/16).
- Credited with four tackles on the season with three of those coming in the regular-season finale at Texas (11/24) … other stop was in the non-conference finale against Tarleton State (9/16).
- Listed with playing in 116 snaps defensively by Pro Football Focus with the bulk coming against Tarleton State (32), TCU (40) and Texas (27) … also utilized for 96 snaps on special teams as a regular on the kickoff coverage, punt return, punt coverage and field goal block units.
2022 SEASON (FRESHMAN)
- Redshirt season … did not see any game action … scout team member.
HIGH SCHOOL
- Attended Broken Arrow High School in his hometown of Broken Arrow, Okla. … two-way player splitting time as a running back and defensive back during prep career … helped lead Broken Arrow to the state semifinals both his sophomore and senior seasons and the state quarterfinals as a junior in 2020 … the Tigers won the Class 6A Division I state title his freshman year.
- Tabbed the District 1-6A Offensive Player of the Year as a senior after recording 1,349 rushing yards in 12 games, averaging 112.4 yards per game … ran for 1,079 yards and 13 total touchdowns as a junior, while adding 36 tackles and five pass deflections.
- Participated in the 2022 Under Armour All-American Game … selected to play in the Oklahoma Coaches Association All-Star Game following senior year.
- Member of the school’s basketball program following the completion of football season.
- Consensus four-star recruit by the likes of 247Sports, Rivals and ESPN … recognized as the No. 27 cornerback in the 2022 class and the No. 5 player in the state of Oklahoma by ESPN … member of the ESPN300 list at No. 220 overall … ranked 10th nationally among athletes by Rivals and No. 5 in the state of Oklahoma … was the No. 16 athlete in the country and No. 7 player in Oklahoma by 247Sports.
