PERSONAL
- Saw action in four games as a redshirt freshman, appearing in all three non-conference games as well as the Big 12 home win over Kansas (10/11) … credited with one tackle on the season, which came against Kent State (9/6).
- Scout team member … recognized as the defensive scout team player of the week following Texas Tech’s win in the Big 12 opener at Utah (9/20).
2024 SEASON (FRESHMAN)
- Redshirt season … appeared in four games overall - the final three contests of the regular season as well as the AutoZone Liberty Bowl versus Arkansas (12/27).
- Utilized heavily for his length up front as part of the field goal block unit … inserted once defensively in the regular-season finale against West Virginia (11/30) … playing time came only a game after being named the defensive scout team player of the week for Texas Tech’s win at Oklahoma State (11/23).
HIGH SCHOOL
- Attended Pearland Dawson High School in the greater Houston area ... helped push the Eagles to a share of the District 23-6A crown as a senior following a 6-1 district record … Pearland Dawson rebounded from an 0-3 start, with a pair of one-point losses, to finish with wins in six of its final eight games.
- Named a first team All-District 23-6A selection after being credited with 66 tackles, 7.0 tackles for loss, 4.0 sacks and two pass deflections in his final season … garnered Academic All-District 23-6A honors following his senior season … honored as the senior defensive player of the week following nine tackles, one tackle for loss and one sack in a 17-16 loss versus Tomball (9/13).
- Recognized as the KPRC 2/UTMB Health Athlete of the Week on Nov. 30, 2023 during his transition from the football season to playing forward/center for the basketball team … served as the keynote speaker for the Berry Miller Junior High Circle of Champions winter event.
- Tabbed a second team All-District defensive end his junior season … finished that season with 38 tackles, 10.0 tackles for loss, 4.0 sacks and two fumble recoveries.
- Arrived at Texas Tech alongside teammate Eddy Smith as part of the 2024 signing class … committed to the Red Raiders on June 18, 2023 … considered a three-star recruit by Rivals, ESPN, On3 and 247Sports … ranked as high as No. 49 among defensive linemen nationally by On3 … CHOSE TEXAS TECH OVER: Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Missouri, Kansas, Northwestern, Cal, Houston.
