- Redshirt season … limited to only one game after spending the first half of the season recovering from a knee injury suffered in high school … listed as the third-team quarterback by end of the season … scout team member.
- Shined in his collegiate debut, which came in the regular-season finale at West Virginia (11/29) … completed 4-of-5 passes for 74 yards and two touchdowns versus the Mountaineers, while also rushing three times for 15 yards … found Micah Hudson on both touchdown passes, connecting with the wideout on 15 and 30-yard scoring strikes in the second half.
HIGH SCHOOL
- Attended Hitchcock High School, a coastal 3A program located just outside Galveston in the greater Houston area … guided by head coach Craig Smith while his father Lloyd Jones Jr. coached on the Hitchcock football staff as well … led team to an 8-1 regular season record and a 4-0 first-place finish in district play as a senior, advancing to the regional round of the playoffs after a 42-3 win in bi-district play and a 56-14 win in the area round … Hitchcock’s impressive 10-game winning streak came to a halt in the regional round.
- Finished senior season with 1,682 passing yards and 24 touchdowns to go along with 283 rushing yards and seven scores on the ground … illustrious tenure at Hitchcock ended with 8,164 career passing yards and 107 passing touchdowns to go along with 1,685 career rushing yards and 29 rushing touchdowns over four seasons … became the 79th Texas high school football player to throw 100 touchdown passes in a career … closed his prep career as the Hitchcock High School all-time leader for touchdowns.
- Tabbed the District 12-3A Co-MVP as a senior and was an honorable mention All-State selection by the Texas Sports Writers Association (TSWA) … earned All-District 12-3A Co-Offensive MVP honors and All-State honorable mention accolades as a junior after compiling just under 3,400 total yards and 48 touchdowns … named the 2023 Galveston County football player of the year after his junior season by the Galveston Daily News … was a first team All-Galveston County selection following his senior year.
- Registered 2,735 passing yards and 36 touchdowns and 678 rushing yards with 13 scores in prolific junior season … named the SBLive Texas High School Athlete of the Week for Sept. 26-Oct. 2 after a monster sophomore year performance throwing for 312 yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions on 12-of-20 passing to help lead Hitchcock to a 35-30 road win … accounted for more than 100 career touchdowns going into his senior season.
- Recorded 911 passing yards, 11 passing touchdowns, 195 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown as a freshman … followed with 2,836 passing yards, 36 passing touchdowns, 457 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns as a sophomore.
- Excelled in both football and basketball at the prep level … helped lead Hitchcock to back-to-back state titles in basketball during his sophomore and junior seasons … … had 14 points and 21 rebounds in the 2023 state championship game, earning All-State Tournament team honors in the process … was an area champion in the 4x100 meter relay as a junior in 2024.

- Comes from a family of athletes … grandfather, the late Fred Bolton Jr. was a middle linebacker at UT-Arlington in the 1960s, while his father was a defensive back at LSU in the 1990s … two brothers also played collegiately with Michael Parker playing baseball at Southwestern University, while his brother Pacey Jones was a member of the Air Force football program.
